"Wheels up in thirty," Hotch says, closing up his binder and breezing out of the conference room. You are headed to Seattle to investigate a series of abduction-murders in the city. You grab your go bag from under your desk and collect a few other items before heading out the doors to the airstrip.
"Excuse me, Spencer," you taunt, moving past him to get onto the jet. Spencer Reid and you have been rivals ever since you joined the bau two years ago. You were both intimidated by each other, except he was afraid to admit it.
Spencer's pov:
I pack up my go bag and grab my satchel for the jet. I'm about to step onto the jet when Y/n pushes past me, teasing me as she does so. Y/n was obviously intimidated by me, but I have to say, she can be pretty scary as well. I roll my eyes and scoff, following her onto the jet. I take the only available seat, which conveniently happens to be right beside Y/n on the couch. The next six hours are going to be hell.
Back to your pov:
You settle onto the couch, Spencer sitting down next to you, piling his bags next to you to create a barrier. You feel like two siblings fighting over the backseat on a road trip.
"Spencer, I think we would get a long better if you just admit that you're intimidated by me," you lean over and whisper to him while the team is discussing case theories.
"I think you need to be the one saying that," he snaps back, hazel eyes darkening with anger.
"Make me then, Spencie," you draw out the last word, voice oozing with sarcasm.
"Don't make me remind you who's in charge around here," he whispers into your ear, his breath hot on your neck. Your stomach does a backflip and you try to hide your shock in the way his demeanor just changed.
"I would pay to see that happen, bitchboy," you respond, turning your head to add to the conversation the team is having. You see Spencer straighten up beside you before he directs his attention to the discussion in front of him. You spend the rest of the flight avoiding conversation with Reid. You land at about twelve pm, grabbing your bags and following your colleagues off the jet.
You arrive at the hotel about an hour later. You collect your things and wait for the team in the lobby for room assignments. The rest of the team files in slowly, Hotch coming in last.
"Alright listen up, we have four rooms, Rossi took one for himself already so that puts me with Morgan, JJ with Emily, and Y/l/n with Reid," he says. You see Emily wink at JJ and cant help but giggle at the obvious chemistry between them. Then you process what Hotch said. You were going to have to room with Reid. You turn to him, making a disgusted face, he returns the favor, flipping you off from behind one of his files. Hotch passes out the key cards to everyone, telling them to go drop their stuff off and clean up. He gave everyone three hours to get sorted out before you have to go down to the station. You follow everyone into the elevator, chatting on the way up to your floor. You follow Reid into your designated room, throwing your bags on one of the two full sized beds.
"Dibs on first shower, bitchboy," you say, grabbing your bag and running into the bathroom.
"Fuck you Y/n!" He shouts, loud enough for you to hear in the bathroom. You ignore his words and turn on the shower, cranking the heat up. Your showers had to be as hot as Satan's asscrack to be enjoyable. You step in, letting the water wash off all the ickiness from flying for six hours. You lather your lavender body wash over your body, the scent relaxing your senses. Next, you take a razor and update on your shaving. You rinse off and wash and condition your hair before turning off the water and wrapping a towel around yourself and exiting the bathroom.
"Bathroom's open bitchboy," you say gesturing to the bathroom. He grumbles and walks into the bathroom with his bag of toiletries, locking the door behind himself. You take the time he's in there to pick out an outfit. You decide on some high waisted black slacks and a champagne button down, undoing the top two buttons. Running a comb through your hair, you plug in your blow dryer and dry out your hair so you can style it once Reid is out of the bathroom. While waiting, you sit down on your bed and scroll through instagram, looking for an escape from whatever nightmare this was. About ten minutes later Spencer exits the bathroom with a towel hanging low on his waist. You look up, but are immediately taken aback by what you see. Spencer's body is still dripping with water. His towel hangs just at his hips, giving you a view of his v lines. You quickly snap out of it, mot about to give him the satisfaction of your gawking. You grab your makeup and hair stuff and make your way into the bathroom, closing the door.
You don't like Spencer, you hate him.
You hate him.
Right?
You shrug off those thoughts and focus you attention on your hair. You straighten your wavy brown hair, combing through it again before pulling it back into a sleek high ponytail. Once you're satisfied with that, you start your makeup. You apply some light brown eyeshadow to complement your eyes and put on some mascara and lip gloss, setting the look. You walk back out into the bedroom to see a now dressed Reid fussing over his hair in the mirror. You sigh, you hate this man, but you aren't about to let him go out looking like that.
"Come here Spence, you can use my hair stuff if you want." You say, pointing to the bathroom.
"I uh- thanks Y/n," he says, tucking his lips into a tight lipped smile.
"Yeah, yeah," you say. "Hurry up we have to be downstairs in fifteen."
A few minutes later, Spencer walks out of the bathroom, his hair a bit more tamed. He actually looks quite nice. He's dressed in dark jeans with a lavender button down and a grey cardigan. He pulls in his beat up converse and turns to you.
"I thought we had to get going," he says, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"Then let's go, bitchboy."
