The lost yet powerful laugh is what really got me, what made me fascinated yet horrified at exactly the same time. I can barely put it into words, mind you. This is a difficult task I have been greeted with. I love it, is all I can really say. The way that power took over my mind was quite insane, and it felt quite amazing. But what am I to do, stop her?
I adored my task today, it was wonderful. I laughed at her, to show her my dominance, and just because it felt...fun. I find this woman fascinating. She wasn't scared, I don't think. Even though I meant it, the aura in the room felt different. That is all I can really say, don't you think?
Sometimes my job seems so, so, so boring. We've been on the hunt for this criminal for 2 weeks, and it's starting to irritate me. I work at an agency, and I believe I've been put in the wrong department. Based on what I've heard from the other departments that do most of the work, their case seems boring, so I don't exactly care too much. The department I'm in is handling a smaller deal, a failed robbery. We've already got suspects though, so one of them is bound to be here.
I'm not too worried. We've dealt with many things like this down here in Kansas. Yes, I know, a Kansas agency. We deal with too many accounting issues, it's just stupid at this point. We're lucky to be dealing with this failed robbery, and I think it's the first time that our other department is dealing with "a criminal on the loose" or so they say.
"Marilyn! Get in here!" As I sat down with my coffee, I heard my name from the other room. It was my co-worker, who was an absolute dick. "I'm on my way, Jerry!" I was just working with a bunch of middle-aged men who thought their job was just as boring as anybody else. As I walk into the other room with Jerry, he brings in all of our suspects from the failed robbery. "None of them look anything like what the witness gave us. Do you have anything to do with this?" "No," I replied "You brought all of these people in, remember?" Jerry sat there for a second, looking at me with an insulted look.
Jerry pulled them out, into the small interview room. Once he was done, he sat down with me again. "Marilyn, I understand you're pissy, but we need you to go out and find more suspects so we don't end up getting robbed again, okay?" I nodded, and to be honest, I was very pissed.
Even though I meant to fail that robbery, they didn't even catch me. What luck I have, eh? I sat down at the gas station right across from the agency. The people here in Kansas call it an "agency", but it seems more like a shabby police department to me. I sipped on my Mountain Dew, looking at the "agency" with wonder. How had they gotten so off-track?
"Danielle, you did a horrible job," my instructor claimed, "what were you thinking?" "It was on purpose, my friend, relax! Sit down with me," I patted the metal seat next to me at this very rusty table. "It was all on purpose, I swear good friend." "You-" "Ah ah ah," I interrupted, "It isn't Danielle. Call me Viola, we must keep it on the low." I winked, and gave him a laugh. His name was Robert or something, I don't remember. Frankly, I always feel too high to remember things like that anyways.
Kansas was so boring, although I've heard of a criminal around here. We're planning to kill them, Robert wants to make it quick. I want the attention though, so I'll make it messy while he isn't looking. "What a snitch, she got the word out before I could kill her. Running was quite boring. I got her a few hours ago when I found her on a break while she was away from that 'agency'." "Oh did you now..?" Robert half-asked like a half-ass. "Indeed I did, my friend. Wasn't as hard as you'd think. I left the body in a small field from here. A farmer's dog will probably eat it soon enough."
I needed some fun, don't you think? I'm quite delicate, like a carnation. One that had been picked up by a crow or something and dropped into a lake by accident, left there because the bird was too wimpy to pick me up. What a dick some birds are. I played with the straw in my Mountain Dew, looking at the shabby police department across the street. I always get away with what I want.
