"Lance... Lance... LANCE!"

"Huh? Wah? What's goin' on?"

"It happened again. We have to move."

"Mmkay..." Lance responded.

As Lance packed his things, I started to dwell on the past events that happened over the past few months. It started to take its toll on a few people and put the world into chaos. We started calling the phenomenon "The End" because that's what it seems like. There might be a few survivors left, but I wouldn't know, because in every spot we've camped at, the place would be deserted. As in we, I mean my group of survivors.

There's six of us including Lance and I. Lance is my best friend, even before The End started. We were able to gather who we could before The End struck our neighborhood. Damian is the first one to join our group. He was a kid who lived across the street from me. We would walk to school together, but wouldn't say much. He's one of those "introverted" types. Mr. Martin was our homeroom teacher. We happened to catch him running in panic due to The End taking his family. Grandpa Joe is the oldest of the group, but also the smartest. He's the main reason we made it so far. We found him hiding out in an alley way a few blocks past a nursing home. Apparently, he witnessed what The End had done to some of the nurses and other elders, and hobbled out of there in terror. Jaycee is the only girl in our group and Damian's slightly younger sister. As you can imagine, we picked her up with Damian. And that would be all of us. A weird bunch, but at least we're surviving. As we move, we would raid any stores we past by and stay in any shelter we please. At the same time, we try to evade The End.

I came out of our tent and went to check on the others. Jaycee and Damian had already gotten ready. Mr. Martin was helping Joe with his things.

"Where was it this time?" asked Jaycee.

"About ten miles away from us," Mr. Martin answered.

"It seems like End is following us..." Lance stated.

"All the more reason to get moving." I picked up my bags and soon enough, we were on the move again. We had started to camp farther away from any kind of civilization, in hopes to escape The End. We walked deep into a wooded area that showed no signs of human influence. It was a long boring walk through a dead, cold world. Usually, forests would be full of animal life; The birds singing in the trees; mosquitoes buzzing around; and small critters fleeing from their predators. However, the only sound to be heard was our own footsteps, we didn't have to worry about mosquito bites, and the forest floor seemed dead...

"Hey... guys... can we stop for a bit... I need to take a bathroom break and catch my breath," Joe huffed.

Mr. Martin let down his backpack and grabbed some waters for everybody, "Here. You guys get hydrated while I go with Joe."

"Okay, but don't go too far..." I warned.

"Don't worry. We'll just be around the corner." I watched as Mr. Martin followed Joe towards some bushes. Once they were out of sight, I observed the state of my team. We were dirty, tired, and probably ready to give up. Guess that means we'll have to set up camp soon...

"It happened again! To Martin! We have to go! NOW!" Joe screamed as he came hobbling from the bushes.

This put everyone into panic. There is no time to grieve over our lost teacher. We had to move. This is the closest attack we've had in months. I carried Mr. Martin's bag and helped Joe keep up as we hurriedly fled through the woods. We didn't stop until we came clear of the forest. The land was vast with the impression of a field. The grass wasn't too long and there weren't any trees either. Nearby, there was a huge ravine that stretched on for miles. We found a good spot among the grass and collapsed on the ground to catch our breaths.
