Scare Meter: Very. Great at surprising people.

Info: A short water demon, the Kappa hides in rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water. The Kappa is short, with scaly skin, a tortoiseshell on its back, webbed hands, long claws, and a beak like a turtle. It has a little bowl in its head, and it's filled with water. If some water spills out, then the Kappa loses some of its strength, however, if all the water pours out, then in a minute or two it will dry out and die. It is known for pulling unsuspecting travelers into the water and drowning them.

Weaknesses: Land. If it tries to fight you on land, it will often lose. Cucumbers. They love cucumbers and if you write your name, and your family member names on the cucumber and send it along the river then the kappa will leave you alone. If you eat a cucumber before swimming, it may not eat you, however, it might guarantee an attack. Iron, sesame, ginger. Politeness. Kappa are obsessed with politeness and will bow back if you bow to them. The water will spill out, making them stuck in that position forever. If you pour water into their bowl they will serve you forever. Limb removal. Their limbs are easy to remove, so if you rip it off, they will trade knowledge to you in return for its arm or leg back. Farts. I shit you not that this is one way to dispel them.
