You smiled as you looked up at the sky. You're currently in your Second Year of Highschool and no longer live with your Father. You fondly remember that day.
It was the first time since moving that you could talk with someone about your situation, without your Stepmom continually chiming in or your Father yelling at you. He hated it when you spoke with your Mom or her Wife.
He didn't accept the fact that her new life partner is a Woman. Her name is Ava also, unlike Dad's new wife, she's a sweetheart. The day you called your Mom, Ava was the one who picked up.
You explained everything to her, as she comforted you and told you she had a plan but had to talk with your Mom about it first.
A few days later, Mom called and told you that she bought a train ticket to Myagi. You chatted for hours, as she explained that she already talked with the Principle of Aoba Johsai High.
It was very Last Minute because the new School Year would start in less than two weeks, but lucky for you, Mom was very close with the Principle because they were in the same Class when younger.
You still remembered that school because of Toru Oikawa. You would always babysit his nephew Takeru. You remember that he was in his first year when you guys would hang out. When you moved, he started his Second Year.
Despite everyone saying that he's arrogant or full of himself, you always liked him as your friend. He was a fun person to be around, even if the girls who admired him were annoying as fuck. Unfortunately, the both of you lost touch when you moved away.
Your Mom assured you that he still goes to Aoba Johsai. So if you'd come back as a Second Year, he would be a Third Year. At that time, thinking about this somehow frightened you. Now you know better.
The day you finally left for good, your Dad was furious. He was screaming at you as you packed your Bags. After what you guessed was one hour of him just losing his shit, he eventually gave up on shouting or trying to convince you to stay. He just sat there, Katina next to him, patting his hand.
For hours you sat on the train wondering if you've made the right decision, but as soon as you arrived and saw the face of your Mom, you came to a clear yes. And you were right.
Now two weeks later, you're standing in front of your new high school, excited but nervous. The thought of starting a whole new life again, was frightening.
Okay, Y/n you got this, just be cool and chill. Remain Calm at all times. Why would you even freak out? Everything will turn out fine.
"Y/n?" Startled by the voice behind you, you turned around with a scream, slapping whoever the fuck interrupted your ted talk. Fuck.
"You Son of a Bitch, why did you scare me like that? Shit, I'm so sorry, are you okay? Did it hurt? Are you angry? You can slap me too if you want to, then we're even. I swear-" not even being able to finish your Sentence, the person grabbed your Shoulders with one hand and covered your mouth with the other hand.
"You're still as chaotic as you used to be." the boy in front of you chuckled as he let you go out of his grip. Now that you got a closer look at the boy, he seemed familiar.
Wait. No way. "Oikawa?" you asked hesitantly. Why is he... attractive?
"It's me Y/n! Did I change that much?" he said and then mumbled, more to himself, "I have to tell Iwa-Chan." "Damn, you look good." Shit. Did you just say that out loud?
He chuckled. You did. "Well, thanks Y/n, right back at ya." Dear Lord, have mercy with me.
"Come on now. I can take you to your Class if you want to or do you wanna be late?" Nope. Being late is the last thing you wanted to be right now. "Coming!" you yelled and quickly ran up to Oikawa. "Oh, and please call me Toru."
The day passed pretty quickly. Since It was only the first day of school you only had three periods, making it hard for you to make new friends. It didn't even bother you as much. There was still plenty of time to get to know your classmates, plus, you had Toru.
After your third period, you slowly walked down the hallway, making your way to the gym, where Toru had Volleyball Practice. He had to explain the direction four times for you, to understand it, but eventually, you got it.
Now you stood in front of the gym doors, debating whether you should wait for him to come out or just walk in. You looked at your phone, sighing. The practice would still go on for about 30 minutes. Not wanting to wait this long, you groaned and finally decided to enter.
The first thing you saw was a Volleyball flying directly towards you. Great just great, you thought as you closed your eyes, preparing for the impact. The Ball hit your face as you stumbled back, taken aback from the force, and landing on your ass. I hate my life.
"Is she okay?" you heard someone ask moments later, not knowing who because your eyes were still closed. "Obviously not, Baka." someone said, and you agreed with that person. Why is it always you, you asked yourself. "Guys? I think Yahaba killed her." I wish.
You hesitantly opened your eyes, squinting them cause the light was too bright for your eyes. Slowly sitting up, you held your head while looking around.
Before you could even have the time to gather yourself up, a cute looking boy kneeled before you with a remorseful look.
"I'm so sorry, are you feeling better? Do you want me to take you to the school doctor?" You gently shook your head. "No, no, it's not that bad. Could you just help me stand up?" you asked him. Isn't he in your Class?
He immediately took your arm, supporting it on his shoulder, leading you to a nearby bench. "Are you okay kiddo?" you heard someone say. You raised your head looking at a Man in a tracksuit, guessing he was the coach of this team. "I'm alright. I think it looked worse than it was," you reassured him with a smile.
In the next few minutes, you just sat there and observed the boys as they were hitting, ball after ball. There was a time in your life, where you played Volleyball yourself. You were good at it but never liked it. Your Dad just forced you to go, because he always wanted to play but couldn't due to a knee injury.
After the Practice, a few Boys, including Toru and a Guy named Iwaizumi, who was Toru's best friend, came up to you, ensuring that you were alright.
A little while later, everybody came out of the changing room, as you stood next to the coach. "Y/n was it, right? May I ask you a question?" the Coach asked as you nodded.
"Do you happen to play Volleyball?" Is it that obvious? "I used to play, but I stopped a few years ago." He nodded. "I see." Meanwhile, you noticed that some of the Guys have taken an Interest in your Conversation.
"Coach? Can we ask her?" someone suddenly asked. The Coach looked at the Boy, then back at you. You looked up at him, with a clueless expression on your face.
He had a thoughtful look on his face. After what felt like a few hours, he exhaled. "You see, currently were in a desperate need of a Manager." he began to explain.
