Scott explained what they had to do to bring them back and honestly y/n thought he was crazy at the beginning but went with it because I mean what did she have to lose?
"Y/N I FIGURED IT OUT! WE DID IT" Scott yelled showing y/n the digital model he just created that bended every single law of physics but at the same time made sense. That was the start of their big project.
After a year of work building the time machine it was time to try it for the first time. Scott volunteered to go back in time because y/n understood the machine better which concluded in having a higher chance in working and him surviving.
Scott stood in front of the old rusty van while y/n prepared the machine. "Okay ready?" y/n asked Scott making sure he was okay, " yes, let's do it" he replied with confidence which y/n adored.
"Okay, I'm sending you back to 2002 when your daughter was born, sounds good?" y/n asked, "perfect" Scott replied. "okayyyy, 3...2...1 bye!!" As quickly as she blinked Scott was sucked into the big engine and 5 seconds later he reappeared just like he left, y/n felt a wave of relief wash over her.

She immediately started questioning the man, "do you know who you are? Do you remember me? Did it work? Are you okay? Do you feel okay? Do you need medical care?" He laughed at her worry and said "heyheyhey I'm totally fine" "okay, wait that means... holy shit we did it" realization hit her like a truck. They hugged and started crying happy tears at the thought of seeing everyone again.
~A few weeks later~
Today was the day they would be going back in time and retrieve all the infinity stones before thanos.
Y/n and Scott stood on top of their time machine. They looked at each other and nodded. "3" "2" "1" they clicked the button at the same time sending them both to the first stone.
~they found all the stones except for one... the soul stone~
"Where are we?" Y/n asked Scott, her question was quickly answered by a man with a red face in a big black cloak levitating above the ground.
"Who are you?" Scott asked while y/n pulled out her knife ready to attack. "I'm your guide to the stone you most desire" the hooded man answered. He slowly started floating to the other side of the big rock they were walking on.
" what you seek the most is down there" the hooded figure said pointing down at the drop of the cliff, "what?" he whispered "a soul for a soul" y/n whispered under her breath loud enough for Scott to hear her.
"Yes you are correct y/n y/m/n y/l/n" the man answered, y/n froze at the mention of her middle name. "That means one of us has to sacrifice themselves?" Scott asked on the verge of tears, y/n nodded "and we both know who it would be" y/n continued.
