Clyde realized where the growls came from. The monstrous growls that he had heard were coming from his stomach.

Clyde looked outside of his window. The sun was still hidden behind the hills and trees behind his house and he wouldn't dare make a ruckus in the kitchen and wake up anyone. Being unable to endure his hunger any longer, he grabbed his backpack and opened it up. "Cannibalism, huh?" Clyde thought aloud with a bitter smirk. The carrots that he was eating tasted only good for some stupid prank.

Some time after Clyde had committed "cannibalism", the sun was shining high in the sky. He looked at the clock. It was around the time that he normally heads to school. 'I don't need to pack any lunch or snacks, do I?' He thought to himself. He had kept the uneaten carrots in his backpack to avoid the pain of making food. Clyde then walked out of the house with his backpack and school supplies, trying to get in the mindset to take a test.
