What you're about to read is the result of a collaborative writing game originally pitched to me by alphascifi and involving members from two separate Discord servers -- a real multi-voice initiative. The rules of the game were simple: 10 writers, each contributing one segment of a story. The twist? Each author only knew what the writer directly before them had written.
How far would the story go off the rails?
Would it end up in an unexpected place?
Would the end result even be coherent?
Surprisingly enough, the experiment worked better than I expected, but the end results are still pretty hilarious. What you're about to read are 10 different authors, 10 different voices, 10 different attempts to move a story forward by feeling blindly in the dark. I hope you enjoy, and take a moment to toss a follow to all of our brave participants :)
