Inspired by the song 'Dandelions' by Ruth B. (pls listen to it)
"Y/n." He says your name in his soft and silky voice. You finally stop staring into the distance, and look back at him. "Hm?" You mumble as he lets out a wholehearted but subtle laughter. "You finally looked at me." He smiles and you look away again, hiding the fact that your cheeks were burning. "Oh, shut up."
Maybe it's the way he says your name, maybe it's the way he laughs. Or the way his eyes sparkle, the way he smiles, the way he looks at you. You've loved this guy for the past year, and yet you still can't bring yourself to tell him. So, every day you go to the field of dandelions near your house, and wish that you'd finally be his when the time is right.

You always loved dancing, especially in that field, where no one can see you. On a bright snowy Sunday, you wore your long white dress with a pairing coat, and danced in your beloved field. As soon as you took that final bow to finish your waltz, someone started clapping. You flinched and immediately look towards that direction. "You look-" He stopped and cleared his throat, cautiously approaching you. "Who are you and why are you here?" You said with furrowed eyebrows "I just wanted to get a glimpse of the snow." He said and stated his name right after. "I'm y/n." You say as you fix your coat.
"Well then, Ms. y/n. May I have a dance with you?" He bowed with a hand out, just like a prince. You can't help but smile ever so slightly.
"I would love to dance with you, dearest prince." You gently placed your hand in his and he starts the dance.
He slowly twirls you around, going deeper into the field. He was a great dancer-- gentle, leading and he knew the steps well. As silence fell over the both of you, calm and peace did too. His eyes never left you, and his touch around your waist was enough to keep you warm.
As the dance finished, both of you bowed to each other and smiled. Neither of you had ever experienced something like that, let alone find someone to dance with. "That was amazing but I have to head back home, I'm really sorry to leave you alone after that dance." You shyly look away. "It's fine Ms. y/n, I understand." He slightly tilted his head to try to see your face and smiled. "I- I hope to see you soon then. This whole 19th century vibe is actually kind of nice." You smile and lift your long dress, walking away.
"Mom! I'm home." You shouted and removed your shoes at the doorway. "Dinner's ready dear, go change and come back down." She shouted back to acknowledge your presence. You did as she said and sat down on the table. "Mom, I met a really nice guy." "Oh? Tell me all about it." You start to tell her what had happened. For the rest of the night, you couldn't take your mind off him and that experience.

Months pass by since that experience and you're used to him-- used to him being near. Every day, you both talk in class and even walk home together. Stopping by the field almost daily.
"Pleeeaseee, I just want to know what you wish for." He pouts and sits back down beside you after jumping up because of frustration. "A wish shouldn't be shared or else it won't come true." You blew on the dandelion, all of its dried seeds flew into the wind.
"Oh, hey, do you know they say that if you can blow all the seeds off the dandelion in a single breath, the person you love will love you back." He pointed at the dandelion you just blew on. "W-what? That's impossible." You calmly said yet your heart raced. "Now can you just please tell me what you wished for?" He pouted once again as you chuckled. "I'll tell you someday. Okay, lets head back home." You reply as months pass again since you met in that dandelion field.

No doubt, you did like this guy. Dare say you even loved him. You feel alive with him, you feel safe and he never ceases to take your breath away. You see forever in his eyes and every day that you go to the field with him, your wish remains the same. But you didn't know if he felt the same; you wanted to know if he did feel the same way about you. So badly that it hurts.
You put on a long, flowy dress and run into the field. The wind blows gently against your face, making your dress flow like water. You look up into the sky speckled with stars, the soft hues of blue make the sky look all the more beautiful and mesmerizing. You take a long deep breath and take a dandelion into your hands.
You make your wish, "Please. I'm begging. Please make it happen. I wish on every dandelion, every star, every coin and every birthday wish of mine. Make it happen." You plead and blow your dandelion, slowly shooting your sights up to the sky again.
"Make what happen?" You hear his soft voice call out. Moving your hair off your face, as you turn to see him. He was wearing the same color as you were—white. Just like this field of dandelions. You chuckle and he said, "You look beautiful tonight." He approached you. "You-" He stopped you and said, "Those were the words I meant to say too, one year ago. On this same spot."
You gave him a soft look, "And on this same spot," you paused. "I fell in love with you."
He closed your distance with him, gently placing his arms around you, pulling you into a hug.
"Be mine, y/n."
"I was always yours."
You breathed a sigh of relief, your wish finally coming true. He takes a few steps back, and bows with one hand to you.
"May I have this dance," he looked straight into your eyes, "my princess?"
You took his hand as his hand slowly wrapped around your waist, "I'd be delighted to, my prince."
You both waltzed under the stars and amongst the dandelions. The seeds, spinning in the air with every move you both made. Every step with him kept you entranced. Dancing with him in this dandelion field was the most surreal feeling you've ever felt. The waltz, in the end, settled down to a slow dance.
You look into his eyes, "My wishes were all the same. Every single day. My prayers were all the same. Every single night." he gave you a confused look.
"I wished on every dandelion, I prayed in every prayer, that you'd be mine."
