Inspired by the song 'Sparks' by Coldplay (pls listen to it while reading)

The seasons change, the dandelions fade. Wishes came true as the future still awaits. You and him, still the same. On your birthday, he gave you a necklace. A necklace with a ring on it. You kept asking him why give you the necklace if you could've just worn the ring. He hesitated but replied, "It's the heirloom of my family," he paused as you gave him a smile. "When I finally marry you, please wear it then." You tell him that you can't have something as precious as that in your possession, but he insists. "It's because I finally found the one. It's you, y/n."

Your dates with him were ordinary, but every time he held you close, every time he would dance in the field with you—now that was a different feeling. You felt safe, calm, and at ease. Your mother would sometimes lecture you about the dangers of being too close, but you knew for a fact it never went past both of your boundaries. There never came a time when you both had something to be guilty about, and so your relationship grew healthily.

Out of the blue, he asked you to go on a date with him. "Y/n, I know its late but pleaaseee." He requests. "You know I can't argue when you do that." You sighed and got up to change into something casual. He picks you up, and drives you both into a peaceful café.

"I needed to get out of there, I'm sorry." You hug him and place a kiss on his cheek. "It's okay, its okay darling." You assure him as he hugs you tight. You knew his parents didn't get along all that well. He would always run away from home to gain even the slightest peace of mind—more so, peace of heart. Little did you know, that's what you gave him.

You both select a cake of choice, as you go with the one you've never tried before, he sticks with his same favorite cake. "Oh, come on! try something new." "Noooo I don't wanna." He stated as he held onto his cake. You try to hold back your laughter, thinking 'so childish...cute.' You both eat your cakes and continue with your late-night date.

Your date ends with him driving you home. You drifted to sleep as he stopped by the dandelion field. He walks out of the car, careful not to wake you up, and picks up a dandelion. He looks back to you, the person he loves the most. "I wish...I could..." He desired. He blew on the dandelion while you woke up, and walked out the car. You hugged him, "You wished for something?" you ask, seeing the dandelion seeds caught up in the wind. "Yeah. I did." He wraps his arm around your shoulder. He takes you home and stays for the night. After using up all your energy, you just changed and cuddled with him to sleep.

His parents didn't get along well, but that wasn't the problem. They knew what they wanted their son to do, they knew what they wanted him to achieve. They push him to do his best yet he never gets a single drop of affection. Maybe this is why he never felt anything until he met you.

Lately, he has been going out to visit you a lot. He takes you on dates, texts you and even blows up your phone. Saying words like "I love you" or "I miss you" all of a sudden. He'd text you in class and even take candid photos of you. Which he almost never does. He was never the clingy type, so you were confused by the way he acts nowadays.

I miss you too but are you sick or something?

He laughs it off replying,

No, I just really miss you hehe

A small smile creeps up your face, and you respond.

Pfft- okay then I miss you too

Weeks pass by, and you haven't gotten a single message from him.
