Hey guys! So it's been a while again, but here's chapter 5 of Tatyana! I wrote this really late so I never really got to edit it. But... ENJOY! :D
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tatyana lay on the cold hard floor, staring at the blank ceiling above her. After the meeting Loki had ordered her to be locked away in a cell of some sort just to make sure she wouldn’t try to kill them all in their sleep. They took her to the basement and locked her away in a cell. “We’ll come back for you once you prove yourself to us,” they said before leaving. Misty was the only one who looked deeply sorry for locking Tatyana in there and mumbled a quiet apology before following them up the stairs. Misty came by later with food (it was a bowl of pasta) and water. “Don’t worry, I’m sure that you’ll get out of here soon,” she said offering Tatyana a warm smile and retreated up the stairs for the last time that day.
Tatyana didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to stay and help him. Misty had been here for about a year. If she proved to be useful too, they might just keep her forever. She couldn’t let that happen. She’d probably never see the sun again. She’d probably never watch Supernatural again. She’d probably never—Oh shut up, Tatyana, she said cutting her train of thought off, you’re being a little baby. You just have to break out some way…
Tatyana sat up and looked around the cell. It was pretty small. Just about enough room to walk a few steps before turning around again. There were bars that held her in. There was a lock in the middle. It was pretty dark and creepy in the basement. Her cell was about 15 feet away from the stairs. The light was pretty dull and it flickered every once in a while making it all the more eerie. Tatyana expected that girl from the Ring to appear in the middle of the hall way and walk towards her in that creepy way. Then, she would grab the bars to Tatyana’s cell and spread them apart, big enough to step inside. She would walk up close to Tatyana and look up at her, revealing her eye and her sharp, pointy – Stop. You have to think of a way out of here. You don’t wanna be stuck here forever, do you? She told herself, shaking her head.
Tatyana ran her fingers through her hair and something fell out of it. She reached down and saw that I was a bobby pin. “YES! THAT’S IT!” She yelled out loud. Then she realized that someone could hear her and anybody that was trapped in a cell wouldn’t sound happy… All she had to do was pick the lock and she could find a way out of… here!
Tatyana lost hope as she realized that she didn’t know how to pick a lock... That doesn’t matter, Tatyana told herself, you can just jam it in the lock and twist it around until you hear a click. But... do you use one bobby pin, or two? Whatever. She would just wait for a clicking sound. Yes, that’s what she would do. She got up and walked towards the lock. She hoped it would work. Her heart was hammering in her chest and she put the bobby pin in the lock carefully. Then, she proceeded to twist it right and left, twisting it farther and then twisting it some more. Click.
Yes! It worked! She went to open the bars but… they didn’t budge? But she had heard a click, she was sure of it! She shook the bars harder and harder. She sighed in frustration. This was just great. First she got kidnapped, then she got told that she was tapping into people’s minds, then she got locked in a cell and now she was starting to hear things? Getting angrier every second, she made a fist and punched the bobby pin, which was still in the lock. Ouch! Tatyana held the side of her fist and bit her tongue. She took out the pin from the lock and saw that it was bent.
She got even madder at the bobby pin and broke it in half. She sat back down and randomly threw the pieces of the pin. After a while though, she became restless. Picking up one piece of the pin which happened to be in her cell, she looked for the other one. It was outside the cell, just a bit out of reach. Lucky bastard, she thought. She lay down on her stomach and stuck her hand out, wiggling her fingers trying to touch it. Just a bit more… She took the piece of the pin that she still had and tried to use that to her advantage. After what seemed like ages she grabbed hold of the bent piece of the pin and picked it up. She jumped up then and stuck the bent one in the bottom half of the lock and the straight one (which had started to become crooked) in the top half of the lock. She shook it vigorously. Click.
Tatyana breathed in sharply. She pushed open the bars before she could do anything and they opened! “YES! EEEK!” She screamed, before clamping her hand over her mouth. She had to stop doing that! She ran out of the cell and ran down the hall. She clambered up the stairs half way, before the door at the top opened. The person was wearing a white t-shirt and dark sweatpants. She couldn’t make out their face because it was so dark.
Tatyana gasped and lost her footing. She fell backwards and landed on her back. She groaned. The person rushed down the stairs and made their way to her. She started to run back down the hall and towards the cell, screaming. The next thing she knew she was on the floor, being held down by the person. She looked up and screamed, “DON’T KILL ME, I ONLY WANT TO EXCAPE THESE FREA—“ The person clamped their hand on her mouth. Only then did she realize it was Connor.
He got off of her and staring laughing. Tatyana glared at him for about minutes because he calmed down. He looked at her and smiled. Tatyana tried hard not to smile back. How weird would it be to smile at your kidnapper?
“Why are you down here?” She asked him, raising her eyebrows.
“I heard some screaming so I came to check it out and someone started to run… away… screaming a-about…” He couldn’t finish his sentence properly because he started to laugh again.
Before Tatyana knew it, she was laughing with him, too. “I KNOW! I mean, I thought that girl from the Ring was gonna come and…” She trailed off as she realized where she was and that he was on the bad side. She turned around and started walking towards the cell.
“Why do you keep doing that?” Connor asked her, suddenly.
She stopped walking and turned around. “Do what exactly?” She asked him.
“You know, you seem like you’re having fun and then you become all moody,” he told her, sounding curious.
“Oh, well I don’t know. I got kidnapped and am currently being held in a cell. I should be so happy!” She replied sarcastically.
He didn’t say anything for a while and they just stared at each other for a while. “He’s not that bad you know? He’s pretty… cool,” He said looking down, choosing his words carefully.
She stared at him and made a face which she guessed was pretty funny because he started smiling again. “He’s a villain who’s like, a wannabe Loki. He doesn’t even sound like Loki,”
“Yeah…” He said, scratching the back of his head. “He’s trying to be more… modern…”
They looked at each other and burst out laughing. “Look, just try to go to sleep, okay? I’ll talk to him about the cell,” He gave her one last smile and climbed back up the stairs.
Tatyana stood in the middle of the hallway. Wasn’t he gonna make sure she locked herself in? She could just climb up the stairs and escape. Did she win over his trust or sympathy? She walked towards the stairs and took one step, before she heard a locking sound.
Damn it, she said, before returning to her cell. She fell asleep thinking about how a guy like Connor could possibly defend Loki and what was going to happen to her.
