Chapter 8: who are you?

it was straight back to school after everyone recovered from the sports festival, my ribs still hurt but my other injuries are fine, everyone seems worn out but we all try not to show it, i was sat in my normal seat and kirishima and kaminari were talking about the festival, as much i'd i would like to join in im still trying to wrap my head around my last match *how did i hit bakugou even when i didn't mean too, its like someone else moved my body* 

aizawa walked in class with his face un-mummified and a singular scar on his cheek like me "your back to normal!" mina brashly said "again my well being isn't you're concern but yes im back to full health" he said "how does it feel to not look like a Halloween decoration?" i asked, he shot me an icy glare and i fell silent *i have gotta learn how to do that* "it seems you are all recovered from the sports festival? thats good because today we are picking your hero names" he said, we all let out a silent cheer "but before we get to that i have some news, as you know the internships are coming up and some of you got scouted due to your appearance in the sports fest" he added "really!? who?" mina again spoke up "i was about to announce it. the students who got scouted  are:  todoroki, bakugou, hanayma, tokoyami, kaminari, yoayorozu, kirishima, uraraka and sero" aizawa announced "ha yes the burger boys got in" kaminari whispered to me and kirishima "for the last time we aren't call ourselves that" i said to denki "aww but its a good name" he said "we have to decide on a name together man, thats the only way for it to be fair and manly" kirishima said "quiet. for those of you who didn't get scouted you'll have to find a place were you can apply and those of you who did get scouted you should get a piece of paper listing all your offers, you have until tomorrow to get them in" our teacher said *tomorrow!?*

"now if you were listening i said about hero names and today we brought in a faculty member to help, she has a lot of experience and is the best person to help you with this" aizawa groaned, as he said those words midnight burst through the doors and i could practically hear mineta drool *you know despite his perviness he has kept his word and stayed away from me* " today students, you'll be picking your hero names, now think about them, you can change them but you may be stuck with them for your career and you'll end up with a hero name like your home room teacher" she said somehow dissing aizawa but still being alive, we were given out boards and a marker, its time to pick my name.

we all sat there for a while trying to think of something good, *i've gone blank* i had no idea on what to write "it's time to see what you got!" midnight exclaimed *oh no*,  ayoama was up first *this can only go well* "my hero name is 'i can not stop twinkling' i mean you can't deny my sparkle" he announced *well he is right but theres no way she'll allow that name its too long and strange* "take out the 'i' and shorten the cannot to can't" she said helping him out * OH COME ON!* luckily the rest of the class was a shocked as i was, after sato called ayoama out on his French accent bakugou got up "king explosion murder!" he said aggressively " no thats too violent" midnight said shooting down his idea "HUH? WHAT DO YOU MEAN!" he shouted "maybe you should be explosion boy" kirishima said, i stifled my laugh, "SHUT UP WEIRD HAIR!"  he shouted, bakugou went back to the drawing board "now who's next?" midnight excitedly said *after those two weird ones i need a normal name*, tsu put her hand up and walked to the podium "i have had this name in mind since grade school" she said, she flipped her board round "the raining hero- FROPPY" she said "i like it, goes well with your quirk" midnight said *finally a normal one thank you tsu* "FROPPY! FROPPY! FROPPY!" the class chanted.

"i still can't think of a good name" a frustrated kaminari said "what about jamming way?" jirou suggested "oh i get it like hemming way but a farewell to arms right? you're smart, i like it" he said "no... its because even though you're powerful you always... jam your brain" jirou said stiffling her laughter. 

after a few other students read out there name bakugou went back up "lord explosion murder" he said "that's basically the same thing" midnight said and bakugou angrily stormed back to his seat again.

there was only a few of us left who haven't said our names yet, well its only me a izuku "guess i'll go next" i said "perfect!" midnight said, i stood at the podium and i took a breath and flipped my board around "the strong hero- JACKHAMMER" i announced, the class seemed to agree with my name "that's a wonderful name, it incorporates your own name and at the same time concealing your name, plus it works well with your quirk" midnight said *thank god... thought i'd have to re write it like explosion boy over there*. i made my way back to my seat "hey cool name man" kirishima said "it's got nothing on yours i mean red riots so cool" i replied, finally it was midoriya's time, he got up on the podium and flipped his board around..."DEKU" it read "really? isnt that what bakugou calls you to make fun of you?" sero said "yeah its weird, i used to hate that name but something, someone, made me realise how wrong that was... from now on DEKU WILL BE THE NAME OF A HERO!" he shouted, we all admired that, i looked around to see uraraka smiling at deku *well it's obvious she was the one to tell him that....wait a minute... SHE LIKES HIM! why didn't i see it sooner*

classes had finished for today and i had just got some edits done to my costume "might as well pick my internship before i leave" i said to myself, i pulled the paper with all the options on it "best jeanest, they could be helpful but rumour has it bakugou is going there so nope, mt lady... that could be cool get to work with that wood guy aswell, manual, not as big of a name but he could be good, death arms... huh? wait whats this?" i said as i looked to the bottom of the paper to see "deathgrid? i have never heard of deathgrid, not a very heroic name", i suddenly felt my phone buzz, i took my phone out to see a message from the same number that has been texting me recently *that old geezer*  'i suggest you pick deathgrid if you want the answers you're looking for' it read *can he see me? no there is no way right?* "fine i'll play your game old man, but when i get my answers i better not see you again" i muttered, i ticked the box that said deathgrid and handed it in to aizawa and left for home.
