Author's POV

Two years ago on this day Taehyung confessed his feelings for you. Today is your and Taehyung's two year anniversary. He planned to take you on a date for this special day. You are right now getting ready for your date. "He should be here any minute now it's almost 8:00 PM" you think to yourself while getting ready. *𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐠~* You get up as you hear the doorbell ringing. You open the door to see the person who you love the most, the one and only Kim Taehyung. You open the door to see him sheepishly smiling at you with his adorable boxy smile. "Happy two year anniversary!!" he excitedly says while handing you the flowers which he bought for you. You giggle at his cuteness. "Thank you~~" you say. "Are you ready for our date??" Taehyung asks you with a slight grin on his face. "Yupp let's gooo" you reply back. You both get in Taehyung's car as he starts driving. "Where are we going anyways??" you ask him, to which he replies "It's a surprise~". "Awh come on just tell me already pwease~" you say to while with puppy eyes. "Nope you will see once we get there and also your puppy eyes won't work on me~" he says. You cross your arms and huff while pouting. "Aish your such a baby" he says while chuckling at your behaviour. *𝟑𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫*. "We are almost here" Tae says. He parks the car and you both get out. Tae then goes behind you and puts his hands on your eyes blocking your vision. "What are you doing Tae??" you ask him. "I want it to be a complete surprise so I will close your eyes and lead you there" he replies back to you. "Okie then lead me there let's go~" you say. When you both reach the destination Tae removes his hands from your eyes. You open your eyes and gasp at the sight in front of you. You both are on a hill from where you can see the entire city of Seoul. You can see all the city lights from up here which look like thousands of small stars making up constellation. 𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑇𝑎𝑒ℎ𝑦𝑢𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡𝑤𝑜 𝑦𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑔𝑜. You turn around to look at Taehyung. "Surprise~" he says. "Tae..." you say and quickly run over to him and hug him. He hugs you back tighter. "I love you Tae" you say to him. "I love you too Y/N" he replies. As you both break the hug you say "I still clearly remember the day we came here two years ago, the day we both confessed our feelings for each other". "I know right it feels like it was just yesterday time really does fly" he says while sighing softly. "Remember when we sat there looking up at the stars and pinky promised to each other we will forever be together and take care of each other and be each other's happiness??" you ask him while pointing at a spot under a tree where you both made the promise two years ago. "Of course I remember how can I forget about that" he replies. You both go sit under the same tree you sat when you both came here two years ago. You both sit there for hours just talking while stargazing. "Taehyung let's make that pinky promise again which we made two years ago" you suggest. "Okie then let's do it if you want to" he replies to your suggestion. You both hold up your pinkies and link them while making the same promise you both made two years ago. "I will love you forever and ever" you both say together while looking into each other's eyes. 𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟. 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑠 𝑎 𝑙𝑖𝑒.

3 months later

You and your friends, Irene and Solar are all together at the mall right now for a girls day out. You all have been really busy for the past month as you all had exams so as the exams are over you all planned on going out together. "Ahh I'm so tired from shopping all day let's go and get some boba at the mall cafe" Irene says. "Yahhh how can you ever get tired from shopping?!?" Solar says scolding Irene. "Well not everyone can always be so energetic like you 24/7" Irene replies back to Solar. "Yeah it's like your battery just never runs out you're always so full of energy" you say agreeing with Irene. "You say that like its a bad thing" Solar says while crossing her arms and pouting. You and Irene both laugh at her silly cuteness. You three soon reach the boba cafe. While you all are ordering you suddenly feel the need to go to the washroom. "Hey Solar I just need to use the washroom real quick I'll come back in a moment just order the honeydew boba tea for me" you say to Solar before heading towards the washroom. As your heading towards the washroom you notice a familiar figure from the corner of your eyes. You look at it carefully and realise it's Taehyung but then you notice that there is someone else with him and it's a girl. You start to get a little suspicious so you get a bit closer to see who the girl is. You realise you've never seen that girl before. You know all of Tae's female friends but you never saw her before. But then you see something that makes you freeze right at the spot. 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑇𝑎𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙 𝑘𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑒𝑦𝑒𝑠. You feel as if the world around you just shattered, your mind gets blurry seeing the sight in front of you. You can't think straight. You don't even realise but tears slowly start to fall out of your eyes. You just stand there, in the middle of the mall feeling completely 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛. You go home without informing Irene or Solar. When you reach home you burry your head in your pillow and cry your heart out. "I saw him...it was him...it can't be someone else who looks like him...he was even wearing the hoodie I gave him for his birthday...h-how could he...?? After all we've been through for two years...how could he...?? Was his love all just pretending for these two whole years...??" you think to yourself. You look over at your phone and see you've got at least a thousand texts and missed calls from Irene and Solar asking you where you are but you ignore them as you don't feel like talking to anyone right now. All you feel right now is just 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛.

4 days later

You have not talked with anyone for four days now. Since the day of the incident with Taehyung, you have just been feeling completely numb. "For how long am I gonna stay broken like this over him?? I can't stay like this forever" you say to yourself while staring at all the text messages and missed calls from your family and friends which you haven't answered for the past four days. "I cant stay feeling so broken and pathetic forever" you think. You suddenly get up from your bed and grab your jacket while putting on your shoes. "I'm gonna confront Taehyung today" you make up your mind. You text Tae to meet you at the park near Han river at 9:00 PM. You sit at a bench in the park waiting for Tae. The memories of you and Tae coming to this park for evening walks flashes right before your eyes. You deeply sigh. You look up to see a figure coming towards you...it's Tae. "Hey~ Why did you suddenly wanna see me?? Missed me~??" Tae says as he approaches you. "Why did you do it...??" you ask him while looking up at him. "Do what??" he looks at you with a confused expression. "After being together for two whole years...why..why did you cheat on me...??" you ask while looking at him with hurtful eyes. "Oh...so you found out already...listen Y/N I've been wanting to tell you this for quite a long time but I didn't know how to I just don't think this relationship between us is working out anymore..." he replies. "Why...?? What did I ever do wrong?? 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑠𝑜 𝑤𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑔...??" you ask him, desperate for an answer. "I...just don't know...I don't know I just don't feel the love between us anymore" he replies looking down at the ground. "You 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑑 to stay together forever be be each other's happiness. 𝑊𝑒 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑑 to stay together forever and be each other's happiness" you say to him as tears slowly start to form in your eyes. "Y/N you have to understand not all promises are meant to last forever. 𝑁𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑠 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟. 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑠 𝑎 𝑙𝑖𝑒. 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛. 𝐼'𝑚 𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑦...". And with that he leaves you all alone in the cold winter night. All your memories with him flashes through your mind, the 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆 the stargazing, the date, it all flashes right in front of your eyes while you just sit there crying, 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏. 𝑰 𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅.
