5| Second and Third Household

Okay, so as many of you might be wondering... What the hell was the second and third household doing at this time?

Pestering the twins daily, of course...

Ren Wan Yun and Chen Ruo Qiu would visit them almost daily and 'advice' them. Mostly, it was how nice it was to play during their childhood; how nice it would be if their parents had not forced them to study, and how boring it was to study.

Of course, Shen Ling and Shen Miao played along with them and complained about how their father had 'forced' them to study and how they would 'not do homework' given by their tutor.

And as if that was not enough, the two of them tried to bring the twins to Eastern Courtyard as they would feel 'alone' living in the Western Courtyard by themselves.

Heh, if they thought that it would be that easy to bring them out of the western courtyard... they'd need another decade of experience for that.

Whenever Ren Wan Yun tried to take the twins out to the eastern courtyard, Shen Ling would act as if she was too scared and say, "Second Shen, Father said that we must not take a step out of the Courtyard, because there are bad people outside and they'd trick us children into slavery. I'm too afraid to go out Second Shen... You wouldn't force us right?"

Shen Ling made herself look so pitiful that if Ren Wan Yun wanted to take her out of the courtyard, she'd be a sinner.

Shen Miao was added in this too... She took it to a whole another level as she started crying, " Uncle Qin Ran... Second Shen and Third Shen want to take us outside, and I'm scared.... wuwu..."

When Qin Ran saw what these two were doing, he tried hard not to laugh. These two little devils were scared to go outside? Heck... They'd sell the whole Ding Capital within minutes if they were let out. They roamed around even the most dangerous parts of the capital every now and then.

What do they mean by 'scared'? When seeing these two, if the others were scared, then that's more like it. But they looked too adorable for that to happen.

But he kept his thoughts to himself and decided to help these two out, "Second and Third madam Shen, the General's order was that, they are not to leave the Western courtyard unnecessarily. They can only leave if it's something important."

Just as she said that both of the twins shared a look that went unnoticed by everyone except Qin Ran and started crying loudly... It was as if they'd die if they leave the courtyard.

So as to stop them from crying, the two women had to agree not to bring them out. Only then did the little girls stop.

When Ren Wan Yun and Chen Ruo Qiu stepped out of the Western Courtyard, both of them were dazed. How hard could it be to bring two little girls with them? That's what they thought before coming here. But, when they left... It was another story.

They came here without even informing and they came together too. Just as she was thinking, the two of them entered.

But, Old Shen Furen was having a headache listening to her two daughters-in-law. They wanted her to summon the little girls and give them a hard time. But she didn't want to see those two girls.

She could even tolerate Shen Miao because even though she wouldn't be that respectful, she'd at least just keep quiet.

On the other hand, that girl Shen Ling... she was a nightmare. Even though the girl would just smile whenever she met her gaze, she'd feel a chill down her spine. She didn't know why, but she felt uneasy whenever she saw her and never wanted to see that girl unless necessary.

She didn't know what to say to convince her daughters-in-law, so she just said, "I'm tired. You may leave" and dismissed them.

When Ren Wan Yun and Chen Ruo Qiu left, they were confused by their mother-in-law's behaviour. Maybe she was truly tired, that's why she didn't summon those brats.

Anyway, they were only three years old. There's no rush at all. They can slowly mould those two into unlikable girls that the whole Ding capital would laugh at.

Shen Ling and Shen Miao were laughing.
