first year

Scarlett sat in an empty compartment, one of the apparent perks of being first on the train, that was according to Paisley. Scarlett was shy and books were her only escape from reality, so evidently she took out a book and started to read. She started getting annoyed, her long blonde hair was getting in the way. About 10 minutes into reading someone opened the compartment door slightly, it was a boy, he had very dark brown hair, round glasses, and emerald green eyes. 

"Hey is this seat open?" He asked gazing into her pure blue eyes.

"Yeah it's open." She answered turning her attention back to her book.   

"Brilliant!" The boy said sitting down directly across from her. "Well I'm Harry Potter!" Harry put out his hand for a friendly handshake. 

"Harry Potter! Nice to meet you. I'm Scarlett Miller." She greeted his hand with hers. Of course she knew Harry she just hadn't recognized him. 

"Hello Scarlett." Harry said about to carry on the conversation when a red head can to the compartment. 

"Hello Harry, do you mind if I sit the rest are filled?" The red headed boy asked. Harry looked over at Scarlett. She gave him a slight nod. 

"C'mon in, Ron meet Scarlett Miller, Scarlett meet Ron Weasley." Harry smiled introducing his 2 new friends to each other. They both smiled and waved at each other before Scarlett looked back at her book. 

"Hello like anything from the trolley dears?" A nice looking lady asked. Scarlett shook her head no as Ron held up a sandwich in a bag.

"No thanks," Ron started "I'm all set, Mum packed lunch."

Paisley was sitting alone in a compartment waiting for her friends Astoria and Jayden. Jayden came first about 15 minutes after Paisley did. 

"Hey!" Jayden said sitting down across from Paisley. 

"Hey Bestie!" She replied look at Jayden. Shortly after Jayden arrived so did Astoria but not alone.

"Hey." Astoria said annoyed. "Sorry Mum made me let Daphne ride with us." Daphne was a year younger than them. Daph smiled slightly and waved, she was pretty shy when it came to new people but once you got to know her she was loud, caring and very funny. 

"Oh hi Daphne." Paisley said coldly. 

"Hey Tor could I go sit with Asterin?" Daphne asked. Asterin was their younger sister coming for her first year. 

"Yeah sure I don't care." Astoria said rolling her eyes.

A girl walks to the compartment. "Hey have any of you seen a toad? A boy named Neville lost one." The girl asked. She moved her curly brown hair out of her face. 

"No sorry." Scarlett says not looking up from her book. 

"Oh! What are you reading?" The girl asked. 

"Oh just Twilight." Scarlett said looking up at her. 

"I love Twilight!" The girl said sitting down quickly next to Scarlett.

"Really! I'm Scarlett Miller by the way." She said setting her book down. 

"I'm Asterin Greengrass." Asterin said smiling. The boys decided they didn't want to listen to the girl at that moment and went to sit with others instead. 

"Okay who's your favorite?" Scarlett asked with a smile on her face. 

"I know most people say Bella but mine is actually Rosalie." Asterin answered the proceeded to ask. "What about yours?" 

"Either Rosalie or Jacob." Scar answered and was about to talk more when someone walked in the compartment. It was a beautiful girl. She had long brown hair hazel eyes and she was just overall stunning. 

"Hey Asterin!" Daphne said sitting down in the compartment. 

"Hey!" Asterin said turning to face her. 

"Who's your friend?" Daphne asked smiling, she felt comfortable around her. Which was odd she never felt comfortable that fast around anyone. 

"Oh this is Scarlett Miller." Asterin answered. Scarlett smiled at her. 

"Nice to meet you Scarlett, I'm Daphne Greengrass." She said smiling. They all got to know each other. Well Daphne and Asterin got to know Scarlett and well vise versa. They talked for a bit then Daphne started to draw, Scarlett read, and Asterin softly sang. After a long ride they were at Hogwarts.
