Dylan POV
*****************************************************
Awkward, the only way I can describe how things are between me and Kayla. After the incident that nearly happened at Chloe's place a few days ago, things have changed and not for the better. Me and Kayla barely talk anymore like we used to, the conversations I have we do have are immensely uncomfortable, its like she can't talk to me anymore, we are like stranger and it hurts. I realize now just how much Kayla means to me and we have grown apart so much, it's killing me.
I ran up and down the stands in the school stadium, training and exercising helps me to clear my head, think about thinks. I love the grassy smell around the stadium, the fresh air. Ed Sheeran's song Don't, such a tune, was blasting through y earphones as I pumped my legs to get up and down, . I had been here for a few hours now and my hair was wet and greasy, and then stench of sweat was following me around. Suddenly my phone vibrated in my armband sending a tingle through my body, I checked the message and it was from Joe.
Where r u man?
I ignored the message, put my phone on silent and kept running. All I could think about was Kayla. I needed to figure out what was wrong and fix it so that everything could go back to the way it was. First I needed to start from that day...
"Kiss Dylan" I whipped my head around to see a smirking Joe, alternating his gaze from Kayla to me. I really wanted to use him as a punching bag. I clenched my teeth, I was going to kill Joe, for putting Kayla on the spot like that, I didn't care about me. I looked over at Kayla.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU JOE, YOU CRAZY MOTHERFUNGI!" she screamed helplessly, I tried to contain the laughter that was trying to escape my lips, she was such a drama queen, oh and her comebacks, they were even more entertaining than her reaction to when we broke into her bathroom. Do you remember that?, oh that was hilarious!
"Sorry Kayla its the rules" Joe replied.
Suddenly everyone turned to look at Kayla, her face started heating up, awwwwwww she was um cute when she was nervous. Then she started biting her lip, a habit from when we were younger, I 'd always thought she would chew her lips off. As I watched her I realized how much of a turn on it was. I tore my eyes away and looked at the beer bottle that Kayla had drank on her last dare. They were sprawled across the floor, next to her feet. One minute and twenty seconds now that was impressive. After the first drink I knew she would be buzzed, by the second she was already drunk. But she didn't look it.
I looked into Kayla's soft, hazel eyes. My breath caught, we waited, I looked her up and down everywhere but her eyes, her wavy brunette hair framed her face perfectly, she still hadn't put her top on from her last dare. Finally our eyes met, I could see something in her eyes, raw emotion, desperation, longing. I didn't know what it was for. She came and sat across me her leg crossed. Then she started to lean in I could feel my heartbeat getting faster. Then Joe walked out of the room, and called for her she literally jumped up and sprinted to him, everyone started laughing and I joined in.I'd done about 50 laps up the stair, I took of my t-shirt and left it on one of the lower benches and started doing some figure of eights on the field, this time Indila's derniere danse remix by Willy William pounding through my earphones. This remix always got me pumped. By the time I'd done ten laps of the figure of eights my legs had become numb, and I could feel a headache coming, but I carried on. I didn't want to stop even thou my body ached in protest. All I could think about was Kayla.I was meant to be her best friend but I don't understand her. I need to figure this girl out.

Kayla's POV
Urgh this stupid asshole. We have been looking for him for ages now, we called and text him but the jerk wouldn't answer his phone. The whole gang was out looking for him, Sam and Kyle, went together and Chloe and Joe went together Josh had gone with Connor had kindly offered to help, we had all been hanging out. I'm gonna kill him when I find him. I'd been driving around all afternoon. So far I'd been to the pizzeria, yeah what a unique name, not the sarcasm. The park, bowling alley... I couldn't find him anywhere this was the last place I thought of the school football stadium. I bought a water bottle from the vending machine before heading for the benches.
I found Dylan running around the field, wait I'd seen Joe do it before, um what was it called again, figure of eights that was it. He didn't have a top on, I found it on a bench near me it was soaked with sweat, eeeeeeeeewwwwwww. His tanned skin glistened in the sun, even his hair was greasy with sweat. His gorgeous blond locks lay wet and flat and flat on his face, I couldn't help but admire his abs and muscles as he ran.
After a few minutes he finally stopped. He stood puffing and trying to slow his breathing. I walked down towards him, his eyes widened when he saw me, I chucked him the water bottle I had bought.
"Hey Matthews, why haven't you answered any of our calls you jerk", finally the anger came back to me. "We were worried sick!" I tried to push him, but failed as he grabbed my arms and took me to the ground, but this didn't go to well as he lost his balance and he ended up on top of me. Thankfully he put his hands out to support himself before he could land on me. So I wasn't a squashed dead person yet. But unfortunately this position wasn't any better as we were both staring at each other, in a very deceiving position.
We were so close I could hear his heartbeat and I was sure he could hear mine, which unlike his steady beat was getting faster and faster. He lowered his gaze to looked down at my lips and then back to my eyes, he started leaning closer and I had no idea what to do. Then he whispered into my ear.
"Aren't gymnasts meant to be graceful?" He smirked. I used all my strength to push him up, but he didn't fall know he just stood up.
"Yeah, they are" I shot back fake smiling, "they can also do this" I used my strength to push myself up like a ninja, then I did a cartwheel followed by a triple flip, and landed neatly.
"Damn girl"
"That's right don't mess with me jerk" quite happy with my comeback I started towards my car.
"Why didn't you answer to calls and messages we sent you?"
"My phone was on silent" he shrugged.
" what were you doing, we were worried sick" I pressed.
"Didn't know you cared so much, babe" I gritted my teeth. It's not like his ego needed feeding anyway.
"Sorry did I say we, yeah I meant they were worried about you, whereas I didn't notice you were gone, oh and don't call me babe!" not true I was the first one to notice he was gone.
"Yeah right you love me" he replied.
"In your dreams"
"Just face reality babe" errrrrrggghhh
" Asshole" I muttered and turned the radio up before he could say anything else cocky. LA Love by Fergie was on, I love this song, I started rapping along.
"Kayla"
"Yeah"
"You can't rap, please stop"
"Shut up jerk, my car my rules" I carried on and he laughed and then he started rapping along with me but unlike me he was good, very good actually.
