Laughter emitted from the grounds, and Neville knew it was from the slytherins who never got punished. Charlotte Riddle and those girls. Glancing over at the remaining DA members, he bit his lip. Lavender Brown sat with her head on Parvati Patils shoulder. Ginny Weasley sat on the floor, her legs crossed. Seamus sat with his arms around Riley Black, and Dean Thomas sat next to them. The rest of the DA were in other houses.
"Why aren't we stopping them?" he asked.
"Because they're allowed to have fun?" Riley suggested. He sighed.
"Not the students. The Carrows," he told them. They bit their lip.
"Because we're scared?" they suggested. He looked at them. Trust Riley Black. Brutal honesty was basically their middle name.
"We need to rebel," Ginny muttered.
"And we will," Riley promised, then smirked.
"But we need to plan," they finished. Neville looked at the clock.
"I have detention with the Carrow demon. I'll be back in an hour. Maybe," he told them, exiting the common room. As he got closer to the woman's office, he bumped into a rather rude slytherin girl.
"Watch it, will you?!" she snapped. Neville caught her eye and smiled.
"You're the girl who nearly defended me in lesson," he told her. She glared at him.
"Don't know what you're talking about," she stalked off after that.  He sighed and continued walking until he reached the office of Alecto Carrow. He knocked on the door and she opened it, and upon seeing who it was, smiled a crooked smile.
"Amy, look who it is," she muttered gleefully. Neville could hear Amycus's pained sigh as he stood to see what his sister was so excited about.
"What up, bear?" he asked, using their old childhood nickname.
"What the fuck did you just call me?" she asked angrily. He backed away.
"Nothing," he whispered. She glared at him before pulling Neville into the room and slamming the door.
"Ask Amycus what you asked me earlier," she told him.
"It was just a curious question, sir," Neville said, making eye contact with Amycus. He saw the eyes of another student when looking at him; the eyes of the same student he'd fallen for in 4th year. Of course it made sense: Charlotte Riddle's mother was Aradine Carrow.
"Tell me," Amycus instructed.
"How much muggle blood do you reckon you and your sister have?" Neville asked, as a look of fury crossed his face. The anger that flashed in his eyes, the redness that filled his face. Alecto picked up some candy from a jar and put it in her mouth and held one out to her brother, who snatched it, still glaring at Neville.
"Bring Miss Xena Black with you tomorrow. She can take your punishment," he hissed, knowing of Neville's and Riley's bond.
"Don't deadname or misgender them! They prefer Riley and they/them," Neville muttered angrily. Amycus laughed.
"Get out now, my sister already dealt with you earlier," he muttered angrily, slapping the boy across the face, making his fresh wounds sting even more. Neville nodded and ran out of the room, but not before noticing Amycus place his arm around his sisters waist and gently kiss her neck. He smirked; Riley would love this information, They were writing a book on death eater secrets.
