The sky was cloudless and sunny. Rays from the beaming yellow ball of light shone on everyone's cheery faces that were out and about. Well, not all of them were cheery faces.
Eduardo's was not.
He rarely smiled when outdoors doing shopping, unless Edd happened to also be out with his friends doing some stupid hysterical shenanigans, in which he would stop to tease them until they got mad. But not today. For some reason, Edd and his two besties Matt and Tom were nowhere to be found. But Eduardo couldn't possibly care less. At least he wouldn't need to deal with them trying to beat him in any competition, like who could bye the most groceries, who would save the most, who'd beat the other in a race, etc. Not like Eduardo was in the mood for any of these competitions today. Maybe another day, if Edd bothered to show his stupid face again.
Heh. Wouldn't that be nice to not see ever again, Eduardo thought to himself pleasingly as he stepped out of the grocery store carrying bags of frosted meat and box's of instant foods for tonight's dinner. He walked across the parking lot to his car, loaded his groceries in the trunk, got into his car, put the keys in the ignition and went off, heading home. It didn't take him too long to get there, since it was only like twelve minutes to get from the suburbs to the busy town, which would soon stretch into the city.
Back to the story. Eduardo pulled his car to the sidewalk by his house - or to be more accurate, his and Mark's and Jon's house - and stopped the car. He got out and began unloading the groceries from the car. Suddenly he stopped. And stood there. He folded his arms and began tapping his foot. Does he not know what to do when I come home with food?, thought Eduardo, furrowing his brow. "Ah-hem, does anyone here realize I could use a little help?"
"Coming!!!"
Finally.
A small person stepped outside the house and hurried to the car, with a look of guilt on his face that he had not heard him come home earlier. "Jon, are you serious? I waited an hour for you to come out! My legs are aching, for gods sake", Eduardo scolded.
"S-s-sorry, Eduardo." Jon hung his head with embarrassment as he picked up some of the bags. "I had to clean u-up some..things."
Eduardo rolled his eyes as he grabbed the other bags out of the trunk himself. But as he was leaning in next to Jon, he smelled a strange scent on him. Some sort of weird, metallic smell.. it reminded him of the time in which he broke his leg getting in a fight with Edd ( Don't ask ) and he smelled something similar on his wounds. Very, very, similar. Hmmm. Maybe he just was too busy playing with copper wires or whatever baby stuff he does in his room, Eduardo assumed as he walked into the house with Jon, the weird smell still tugging at his nose. Jon carried the groceries to the kitchen and began packing them. Eduardo did the same. After all the food was put away, he turned to Jon. "Alright, kid, you're done for now. Go back to whatever the hell it was that you were doing..whatever was so important that you just had to ignore me." He glared at Jon, his green eyes lasering into Jon's tiny, black dot like eyes. "A-actually, I was just about to go watch tv...with Mark.."
"Fine, whatever. I don't care."
And he never would care. Anything Jon did would never spark Eduardo's interest.
