"The last scene, then it's a wrap." The director yells at the cast. "What scene do we have last then?" Matthew asks. "It's your scene with Thomas. You have to pass your shooting exam." "You sure you trust me with a gun today? You know there has been a lot of failures with them lately." A concerned Matthew asks while looking at his girlfriend. "It'll be fine, Matthew. We have checked them all, I even tested them before use." Mark says. "Okay, I'm putting all my trust in you now. I have Wynter sitting over there. She's not feeling well today. I don't need to have her worry even more." Matthew tells him, still looking concerned. He'd rather be with his girlfriend now. Wynter pretends not to notice Matthew's state but that's quite hard when he's all she can think about. She loves that he is concerned for her well-being. She loves seeing him do what he loves. She loves that he tries to hide the subtle quirks about him, but fails to do so. All of this makes Wynter falling deeply in love with him, she just hasn't realized it yet. While Wynter was deep in thoughts, Matthew continued to do his job. "Hotch, my firearms qualification is tomorrow morning." That is what left his mouth, now knowing that the shooting part is going to happen, the nerves build up. Matthew knows that Wynter isn't paying any attention to him and to calm his nerves he needs her attention.

Shemar notices that he is looking for reassurance with Wynter and he walks towards her. "Wynter, your boyfriend needs your support right now. Go and see him on the side." He said to Wynter. She nods, already on the move. "Can we redo the scene?" He asks with pleading eyes, hoping that they didn't notice his hesitation in the first one. Wynter of course notices everything about him and nudges the director to say yes. She gives him a wink and Matthew can feel the blush rise on his cheeks. He shakes his head and tries to focus on Thomas again. But while he is partially focussing on what he is supposed to do, he forgets he's holding a gun. What he also forgets is that he didn't put the safety pin back on. He jokingly aimed at the crowd but accidentally pulled the trigger. He drops the gun and drops down on his knees. The realization that he shot someone and immediately tears fell. He looked up and saw Wynter laying on the floor. Matthew was frozen. He ran to Wynter, tears still streaming down his face. He dropped down next to her holding her hand and murmuring soft things to her. He tries not to look at her wound, but it gets harder when he sees the pool of blood.

"Matthew, you need to get out of here, the medics are going to take her." Shemar tells him but he won't budge. Matthew can feel a hand on his shoulder trying to get him away. "He needs to get away from her." He hears in the distance. ''Matthew?" Wynter whispers with her eyes closed. His head snaps to her face and smiles softly at his girlfriend. "Hi, baby. I need you to keep your eyes focused on me okay?" He asks his girlfriend, hoping she listens to him. "Always, I need to study that pretty face of yours don't I?" He laughs, really softly. Matthew feels an arm around his waist and that pulls him away from Wynter. The medics get Wynter on the stretcher and an IV. "We need to get her to the nearest hospital as soon as we can." The medic next to Matthew states. "One person can join us in the ambulance." The medics state and Matthew immediately goes into the ambulance. He holds her hand but quickly pulls it back again when he feels how cold her hands are.

Once at the hospital Wynter is taken to surgery and Matthew has to join the rest of the cast in the waiting room. He looks at Thomas and he just looks at him with guilt. He shouldn't have made Matthew do the scene when he felt like this. Shemar is nowhere to be found also feeling guilty for distracting Matthew. The rest looks at Matthew, losing himself in his thoughts. He feels empty, his life without Wynter would be pointless. How would he move on with that burning feeling of shooting his own girlfriend? He really can't figure that out. "Snap out of it." That's what he says to himself after getting those meaningless thoughts. After a good three hours of waiting, a doctor walks into their room, and Matthew immediately asks for information. "She made it off the table okay. She just needs to rest for a couple of weeks." He says and happy tears are streaming on more faces than just Matthew's.
