Goodbye Storyfire 💔

Jamie & his wife Kate are chilling in their room, they are on their phones. Kate goes onto Storyfire to see what everyone is up too.

Kate
Oh my god! No way!

Jamie
What's up babe?

Kate
Have you been on Storyfire today?

Jamie
Haven't been on in a few hours, why? What's going on?

Kate
It looks like Storyfire is shutting down....

Jamie
Says who?

Kate
Says Jesse himself....

Jamie
What? No! There's no way!

Jamie goes onto Storyfire and sees the posts from Jesse

Jamie
This can't be happening! The Storyfire community is so tight, this is the last thing that I expected to happen...

Kate
It seems like they had a lot of financial problems, I'm sure that they did everything that they could to save it.

Jamie
I'm sure they did. My god this sucks!

Kate
It really does! I love Storyfire so much.

Jamie
Me too! The community have been really supportive of my series "The Household"

Kate
Yeah, The Household has been doing very well lately.

Jamie
I have such amazing support on there, especially from Anne Zimdahl, Brianna, Waspnest and so many more amazing people.

Kate
Yeah, they're amazing people.

Jamie
What am I gonna do? I had over 200 episodes posted of The Household on there and now it'll all just disappear...

Kate
Well, Jesse's saying that you can save everything, if I were you, I'd save them all before February 1st..

Jamie
I want to continue posting episodes of The Household though, I'm right in the middle of some pretty big storylines, I've only just started new ones too.

Kate
I'm sure that you'll be able to continue the series somewhere else.

Jamie
Before I found Storyfire, I wrote it on Notes but I honestly don't think I can go back to Notes, I want to continue making my series public.

Kate
I'm sure that there's other apps for that.

Jamie
I'd say that there is, none of them will beat Storyfire though.

Kate
That's very true.

Jamie
Okay, here goes...

Jamie goes on the App Store and types in "Storytelling Apps"

Jamie
There's one, it's called Wattpad.

Kate
You might as well give it a try.

Jamie
It's going to be weird using another app but at least I'll still be able to keep in touch with everyone from Storyfire and I can continue posting my series.

Kate
Yeah, it's good to think about the positives.

Jamie & Kate both download Wattpad.

Jamie
You can get a subscription but it looks like it isn't mandatory.

Kate
Yeah, you're able to read and write stories for free.

Jamie starts browsing through Wattpad

Jamie
Holy crap, this app is complicated!

Kate
Yeah, Storyfire seems a lot more....simple.

Jamie
Let's see what the writing is like on this app..

Kate
Hmmm looks like you can't make the characters like you could on Storyfire...

Jamie
Yeah, it seems like you have to keep typing out the characters names.

Kate
On the bright side, at least you can have as many characters as you want in an episode.

Jamie
That's actually quite handy, especially for The Household since there's so many characters in it.

Kate
I don't understand, what are "Parts"? Does that mean like....part of an episode?

Jamie
I'm pretty sure part is another name for an episode.

Kate
Ah, so one episode of The Household is a part.

Jamie
Yeah, I think so.

A while later...

Jamie
Okay, I think I'm getting used to it, I still prefer Storyfire though.

Kate
I prefer Storyfire too, no app will be as amazing as it but at least you can still post your series for people to see.

Jamie
Yeah and it seems like a lot of the Storyfire crew are now on Wattpad too, so I'll be able to keep in touch with them.

Kate
Storyfire being gone, it's like the end of an era, I'm going to miss it so much.

Jamie
I'll miss it too, that app has gotten me through this pandemic, if it wasn't for Storyfire, I'd be bored out of my mind everyday.

Kate
Me too, it's the best app in the world.

Jamie
Hopefully Storyfire will come back some day or maybe Jesse will develop another app.

Kate
I hope so. In the mean time, it looks like we're using Wattpad

Jamie
Yep! Let's hope that it goes well...

This was just a test story, I was testing out how to work this app. It seemed really complicated at first but I got the hang of it as I was writing this story.

I will miss Storyfire so much, it breaks my heart that it's shutting down 💔
I was worried that I wouldn't get to keep in touch with anyone from Storyfire or continue with The Household but I can do that on this app.

No app will ever replace Storyfire but it's better than nothing.
After February 1st, I will continue my series The Household on here. There's almost 300 episodes of it on Storyfire, so I definitely won't be rewriting them 😅
The first episode that I post on here will be a continuation from whatever the last episode on Storyfire is.
