I wasn’t watching where I was going, so I ran into someone as a result. I just had to run into someone! My entire body slammed into theirs, but I didn’t fall, instead, I was pulled close to them.
I found it weird at first, why would they pull me close? That’s when I realized my idiocy, obviously, they would grab me! This person is probably close with the other guy -who’s name I couldn’t bother to remember- so I’m going to get caught by them! I started to wiggle and kick to get try to free myself from their grasp, I got one hand out which made it easier to punch around.
As I kept trying to free myself my movements slowed down, so slow that a tortoise would be going faster than I was. I look up to see the cause of my delayed movement, as I do their hair goes from being extended out to my body, to being back in place with the rest of it, it’s shaped like arrows that would be seen on a clock.
My eyes wander from their hair to face, it doesn’t look familiar at all. I wonder if they were just picked up off the streets out of desperation for more people. Then again, I do remember more people were locked away, they just weren’t talked about because the main focus was on- what’s his name? I can never remember.
My body was thrown down onto the cold tile floor, a loud thud sounded throughout the mostly quiet hallway, the light above us flickered a little before going back to being solid light. I could barely move my neck to see more of the person standing above me but I could feel their eyes staring holes into me.
I could hear thumps of running feet, I tried my best to look up to see who it was even though deep down I knew exactly who it was. I felt my stomach drop the closer the sounds got closer, I really didn’t want to know what would happen when he caught up to me. I closed my eyes, everything disappearing as my lids slid over the balls of my eyes, I wished I could also disappear like my vision.
I kept trying to move faster but it was just impossible, the steps kept getting closer, the closer the steps got the harder I tried to move. I kept trying until the footsteps stopped. I opened my eyes to see black tennis shoes in front of me.
“Did you slow her down?”
“Yeah, I did. She was kicking and punching.”

I looked down at the girl beneath me, she was going extremely slow. I can’t say I feel bad though. When she touched my head bad memories resurfaced, they played out like a nightmare.
I looked straight into her eyes, the biggest thing that stood out wasn’t the color but the shape, it wasn’t the regular circle, instead, it was rectangular. I’ve never really seen anyone with differently shaped irises, yeah they existed but it was surprisingly hard to come across.
Instead of staring at her I kicked her, I was tired of looking at someone who used their quirk to make me remember terrible memories. The kick was hard and she ended up with a bloody nose. Blood seeped out of her nose and onto the floor which made me cringe in disgust. On a better note, the impact knocked her out.
“Hari, you don’t mind putting her back in the room, do you? I’m tired of looking at her.”
“Of course, but when I get back can we talk about something?”
I nodded at his request to talk, with that he picked her up and went to put her away. I walked down the rest of the hallway to the main section of the warehouse, it was still a far ways from being completely clean, but it was good enough for now. I walked down a different hallway that had multiple doors until I reached one that was at the end. I opened the door, inside was a chair, neatly stacked books, and a ‘bed’. It wasn’t a real bed, just two blankets and a pillow on the ground, just looking at it made my back hurt.
I went to sit on the chair, it was unsurprisingly more comfortable than the makeshift bed.
It was just me and my thoughts right now, the small interaction I had with Hari made me start thinking.
What does he want to talk about?
