It was already midnight when the staff finished setting up the filming gears for tomorrow’s shooting. Some people returned to their cottages and some are already asleep, and that includes WayV.

Those kids had a long day today. They filmed for several hours and did a lot of physical activities earlier.

Me? I didn’t do anything much. You can basically find me standing at any comfy corner on sight, as much as possible the nearest spot from the camera director, while occasionally blurting out words like; “Again.”, “Stop.” and “That’s enough.”

My friends call me Kayes. I’m a producer and a director, one of the youngest in our field. At one glance, anyone would think everything goes my way. Oh how I wish they actually would.

“Aren’t you gonna sleep? It’s already past midnight.” I just smiled sheepishly at the staff who stopped by. He seems concerned seeing me sitting like a beggar kid on the stairs outside my cottage.

“I just wanna stay out a little bit longer.” I replied with a playful voice. Geez, I should really stop acting like a kid when I’m with my subordinates.

Honestly, I just want to stay right here while staring at the other cottage in front of me. I badly want to get in. But I’ve decided not to, cause I know, the moment I walk in, Xiaojun would scream bloody murder, Hendery will pull my hair out from its roots and I might receive a high kick from Ten thinking I was a burglar.

I don’t wanna die yet.

I need to stay alive so I could keep fancying over people I like as much as I want.

My initial plan was to slack here all night while waiting for some miracle to happen, but being the slightly impatient person I am, I gave up and started to leave before I could even reach half an hour.

“Anyone out there?”

As if they were programmed, my feet automatically stopped and I turned to see the owner of the voice.

Shocking shenanigans, is this the miracle I’ve been waiting for?

“Why is my favorite person still awake?” I sang as I walk down the stairs and immediately sitting back on the first step again.

It was Winwin.

He looked like a mess with his hair sticking out on different directions and he’s wearing pajamas with a wrinkled mustard shirt.

“Anyone? Please?” He called completely ignoring my presence. I know he’s half asleep but there’s no way he didn’t notice me.

Yup. That’s our set-up.

I’ve been head over heels for Winwin ever since I met him four years ago. He was still a trainee back then. I have basically confessed my feelings for him and all NCT members knew that. The news even reached several trainees who are still down SM’s dungeons.

It became an inside joke around our friend circle, and the other PD’s don’t give a damn.

Everything’s going smooth but Winwin is the only conflict himself. He just loves pretending I don’t exist. Unless I scold him for not doing his job properly.

After all, we’re professionals.

“Everyone’s on their beds already, you and I are the only souls wide awake tonight.” I said watching him struggle upon wearing his slippers. “Why? What’s wrong?”
