01. the beginning of the end

phil ends up in victorian london after a great search.

twenty years ago phil's beloved son ben died. phil was absolutely devastated with grief at the loss, and so he vowed to avenge the death of his son. when he had brutally killed the silly people that dared to murder ben, phil then swore that he would resurrect ben, whatever it took.

thinking of his son brought a tear to phil's eye. he had always been the best father possible to ben, although he was a bit homophobic you couldn't blame him for that. he remembered all the precious memories, ben's first words, the first time he got up on a stage and tap danced for all to see. even when he walked in on the boys, he missed that memory too. he was so sad.

so phil went on a journey. he ventured beyond the chavvy corners of the east end, and used his international gangster connections to force famed scientists to find the secret to resurrecting the dead. he met a wonderful woman named lily along the way, they fell madly in love and got married within months. him and lily's wedding was a gangster wedding, everything was made out of gold due to phil's insane wealth. and all his intimidating friends guarded the wedding so nothing bad happened.

but this was not enough. phil needed his son back now. so phil continued his threats. he invented time travel and invented thousands of scenarios where he could save ben. but none ever worked. even when he went all the way back to that fateful day where he walked in on the boys, ben would die. phil didn't know what to do. nothing would work for him.

until one day he realised that maybe modern technology would not work at all. he needed real gentlemen who would respect him, who would realise the dire situation he was in. so phil left it all behind; his gang swore to protect his wife until he returned, and so phil travelled not to a time before ben was alive, but a time before phil himself was alive; victorian england.

phil remembered reading a book in high school, it was called jekyll and hyde and although he thought it was a bit shit he realised it could lead him to the resolution he needed. he vaguely recalled his teacher saying that this book was fiction, which if he recalled correctly meant it was a real event, so he decided dr jekyll could help him. and with the immense knowledge phil had gained from reading five entire pages of the book, he could perfectly manipulate dr jekyll and make him a gangster scientist.

so phil said his final goodbyes... he realised sadly that he did not feel anything toward these people, he only wanted his son back.

phil entered the time machine, and in an instant the modern world of 2041 changed to victorian england.

he was ready.
