Bloodlust

Chapter 3

        As I kneel there in the dead of night all I think about is my sister and her horrified face when she uttered those words I can never forget. My human memories invade my mind and flashes of my first night as a vampire come trailing back. Gore, Dead Bodies, Horror, Red, My family, Red.... All I can remember is that scarlet bright color which I crave daily.

        My thoughts are suddenly interrupted by the faint smell of rotting flesh and as I turn my head I realize that I haven't cleaned up my "little" mess yet. So I whip out my phone and Google serial killers in Chicago and settle for "X", apparently known for carving an X somewhere on the victim's body. I settle for the neck to cover up my bite and put my pocket knife back in my red converse for safe keeping. Then I super speed away ready to drink until I'm practically almost near getting a stomach pump to try and drown my sorrows. 

        Though people look at me weirdly as I confidently strut into the dingy dive bar, I plop myself down on the bar stool.

"Hey! Give me a round of tequilas... and make it quick. No limes I like the burn." I said threateningly

"I'm gonna need to see some ID little lady" He chuckled

"I was hoping I wasn't gonna have to do this, but oh well" I sighed

        I quickly grabbed his collar, leaning really close and I laughed as I saw him pucker his lips a little and shut his eyes.

"EWW you perv! Your willing to kiss me, but you won't give me some fucking tequilas! Do you even know how old I am!"

 I realized I was causing a scene and quickly compelled him instead.

"Never mind my age and just get me the damn tequilas"

He left quickly and as I waited I began to feel guilty once again until I heard her voice.

"Well..Well..Well, look who it is? How long has it been? 5 years..."

"I knew you were following me..." I stated matter of factly

"You miss me?" She smirked

"Not a chance in hell"

        I turned, examining her features realizing it was all still the same since the first time I met her when I was a human. Cold, rigid, but still effortlessly beautiful with squinty, inquisitive sky blue eyes and slightly loose blonde waves that stopped at her collarbone. Unfortunately, that stupid signature smirk that now annoyed the hell out of me was still plastered on her face.

"What do you want, Natalia?!"

"I can't just visit a friend for old time's sake..." she smiled

"No, cause we're not friends"

        Finally, the bartender came with my drinks and I instinctively grabbed a shot of tequila knowing I would need a few drinks to get through this conversation. She sighed grabbed one of MY tequilas, took a shot, slammed it down, and sighed.

"Look, you really expect me to believe that you don't need me. You need me, more than you know"

"...I don't need you" I said quickly, dismissing the idea

"Your alone, no one taught you how to live like this and I can help you. I followed you because I knew you were going to go on that blood bag binge again after visiting Moonlight Falls... I needed to stop you so I thought you could use a little drink" she smirked once again

"And I almost thought you cared. You compelled that brunette girl to bump into me and cut herself so I would feed on her. And you said you were my friend?" I questioned

"I just pushed the inevitable. You would've hopped off the blood bag wagon and killed a bunch of people...like you did 5 years ago. I'm trying to HELP YOU." she insisted

"Way to shove it in my face, but now that I recall who's fault was that again? Oh right, you and you were never guilty about it. You never felt remorse, you enjoyed it. You enjoyed watching me suffer and squirm. So stop with this friend BULLSHIT and talk to me like the cruel, conniving person I know you are or I walk"

"Fine. Come with me and I can teach you to be like me. It's better than what you have going for you right now."

"Why would I want to be like you? The no remorse, I practically revel in the kill you."

"Better Question: Why would you want to be you? Feeling everything, it's probably exhausting, isn't it"

"I would NEVER come with you after what you did to my home, to my family"

"Remember when we were friends, real friends once upon a time. Let's just say I listened and I knew you wouldn't miss it. You hated that town and everyone in it for how they treated you. You even disliked your parents for not letting you in on the big secret regarding the family curse. The only one you really liked was your sister, Aurora, but you were jealous of her and how she was never tormented like you were."

I grabbed another tequila and quickly scarfed it down my throat, as I felt the burn I fell into a rage and grabbed Natalia' s face so deep that blood was dripping from her cheeks.

"Don't ever say her name again" I whispered

"Don't ever think that I don't miss it. You didn't have the right to assume who and what I would miss. You had no right. You made me like this and now you want to help me. I could've been human with my family at least slightly happy and innocent instead I'm a killer. I'm a murderer that enjoys it like some type of sociopath" I whispered as tears streamed down my face

She stared rigidly at my eyes and dared me to go on, dared me to say the words that she's been longing to here and I gave it to her.

"You made me a vampire and I will forever hate you for it" 

And as I stared into her eyes and she stared into mine I realized though I hated her, I needed her, and she knew it as she gave me a wicked smile.

"Good"
