Moonlight shone down on ThunderClan as the eerie quiet of night covered the camp. Peace. Something that hadn't been brought to ThunderClan in a while. Stars burned bright in the black sky when the night was still calm. Then it happened. A familiar stench woke the cats from their dreams and into battle. Without warning all of ThunderClan was risen to fight against shadowy foes as the calmness that still remained in the night was broken. It's hard to fight an enemy if you can't see them, and ShadowClan knew that. Claws and teeth thrashed out of the shadows at Brashheart to the point where she couldn't even trust her own. She tried to thrash back but her efforts were no use, they just seemed to keep coming. Her only friend was the moon as enemies swarmed her camp in this battle against the night. More cats came out of the dark, and when one set was too tired to carry on fighting a new set with twice the strength would role in. ThunderClan realized this was a battle they couldn't win. All of a sudden Brashheart a cry of pain from a voice all too familiar. She rushed over to save him but it was too late. All that was left was the empty corpse of her brother and a bloody shadow hunched over him. She ran at the horrible being that took her brother and pinned him on his back and without thinking bit as hard as she could into his shoulder. The cat yowled in rage and pushed her back with his hind paws against the Highrock. She felt a surge of pain as her back hit the cool stone and let out a cry of dismay as the shadowy cat pinned her against the ground. She protested and pushed against the muscular Tom holding her down but no matter her efforts she couldn't get him off her.

She was going to die.

He extended his claws and scratched deep into her cheek. She yowled in pain but he did not stop, and soon all she could see was her own blood. Then, to finish her off he bit into her shoulder deeper than she thought teeth could go. She was in so much pain. She wished she could just go to sleep and say this was all a dream. She wished her brother could help her right now. She wished her home wasn't being ravaged by enemies. But dying wouldn't help anyone, it would only make her clan sad to say they lost 2 cats in one battle. She wouldn't let the cat who killed her brother kill her. She refused to die. She pushed with all the strength she could muster against the black Tom and managed to get him off her. Then she ran. And she ran, and she ran. She ran farther than she ever had before. She ran farther than she thought her legs could take her. She ran until she couldn't anymore. And even if it made her a coward, she promised herself she would see daylight again. She promised she would live on. Not for herself, but for her brother, as her eyes closed and she slowly drifted away.
