A long way home

Chapter ten

Morgan kicked and screamed as her mother basically dragged her back into her old house.
"Let me go you witch! " Morgan yelled.
"Young lady don't use that tone with me, now you will stay in your room until I let you out! " Pepper ordered but Morgan had her father's spirit and refused to listen.
"No I won't listen to you anymore! " Morgan declared and she got up from the bed and attempted to run away.

However Pepper once again caught up with her, and because she still had her rescue armor it wasn't hard for her to grab the young girl.
"That's enough you're grounded for the rest of your life Morgan! And I will make sure you never run away from me again, "  Pepper declared ready to force her daughter to stay put but before she could do anything her iron fist was webbed up.
"Keep your filthy hands off my sister! " Peter exclaimed breaking through the window and wearing his Iron Spider armor.

"Petey you're okay! " Morgan exclaimed happily she was so glad that he came to save her just like he had before.
"Impossible I thought I got rid of you? " Pepper asked both angry and confused to see that her stepson was still alive.
"You can't keep a good hero down, now enough chit chat you and I have a score to settle. " Peter declared and he didn't have to wait long before Pepper attacked him. He was ready this time though as his Spidey sense picked it up and he stopped her armor fist from colliding into his face with his super strength.

Under her helmet she looked down at him in surprise and was then sent flying into the air by Spiderman roundhouse kicking her. She recovered quickly and shot repulsers blasts at him, which he had to duck and jump to avoid. With him discrated briefly Pepper punched him in the gut causing him to hold it in pain.
"Is that all you've got Peter? I'm disappointed, " Pepper mocked as he tried to recover in response he shot his taser webs at her causing her to wither in agony from the shock.
"There's a lot more to me than you think, " Peter declared and punched her the same way she punched him seconds ealier.

"Your powers don't scare me kid, all they do is prove that you're a mistake just like  your mother. " Pepper taunted and that set the teen off, he hardly remembered his mother but he knew that she was far from a mistake.
"Don't talk about my mother like that,  you only despise her because she loved Tony before you did!" Peter declared and after he said that everything seemed to click inside his head. Why his birth father left him, why Pepper hated him, why he had always seen Tony as the father he never had,  and why Tony told Morgan that he was her big brother. Because he was Tony's son, years ago either while or before his mother married Richard Parker, she slept with Tony Stark and he was the result of that night.

"So you finally figured out the truth? I knew from the second I saw you, just like Morgan you have his eyes, " Pepper said and he could practically hear the anger and jealousy in her voice. "I hoped that he wouldn't get too attached to you because he never should have known about you, but I couldn't stop him from finding the truth and that only made him love you more! " Pepper screamed and without warning she flew at him trying to push him into the nearby wall but he sensed the danger and stopped her before she could.

"You dare speak of my father that way? He was a far better parent than you will ever be, " he said to her and fired his own repulser blast at her. She fell backwards and her suit became damaged due to the impact.
"You know nothing, you're only a child!" Pepper yelled in his face but her words had no effect on him, as she struggled on the floor not able to get up due to her suit's malfunctions. He approached her, the iron spider legs coming out from the back of his suit.
"True but I am not just any child, I am the son of Ironman, " he said to her and he didn't sound like a teen when he said that, he sounded like a grown man.

"Well what are you waiting for, aren't you going to kill me?" Pepper asked him as she looked at him. He raised his hand like he was ready to blast her but instead used his webs to keep her from getting away.
"No because if I did it would make me no better than you, remember what mercy feels like because not all people will show it. " Peter declared and turned away from her so he could walk away, however Pepper was angry that he had the nerve to turn his back on her. She broke free of his webbing and made a dagger appear at the hand of her armored hand.

"Petey look out! " Morgan cried out who had stayed silent and hidden during the fight so she wouldn't get hurt but could say the weapon from her hiding place. Peter picked up on the danger thanks to his spider senses and was ready to grab it before she could do anything with it but something or someone beat him to it. All three of them watched in disbelief and shock as Pepper's hand was frozen in place unable to throw or use the dagger. But things only seemed to get stranger as the dagger in her hands along with her armor disappeared leaving her defenseless.

"What no this can't be happening! " Pepper yelled in confusion and the voice that responded to her was a voice she thought she would never hear again.
"Really honey this isn't the weirdest thing you've seen happen in front of you, "
"Tony? " She asked tears running down her face as her deceased husband appeared in front of her, he looked angrier then she had ever seen him.
"Daddy? " Morgan asked unable to believe her eyes at the sight before her, Peter on the other hand couldn't even speak because he wasn't sure if he was seeing things, dreaming or looking at a ghost.

"Hey little miss, Pete please cover your sister's eyes I don't want her to see this, " Tony said and Peter knew by the tone of his father's voice that he was pissed not at them but at his wife so he obeyed immediately.
"You get out of my house and stay away from my children, both of them! " Tony declared and what happened next was not able to be seen because the second Tony grabbed Pepper she disappeared along with him. Peter wasn't sure what just happened but he didn't feel like questioning it so he made no move to ask.

"Petey? " Morgan asked who hadn't spoken in a long while. She was about as confused as he was but she thought he might have answers.
"Yes Sorelina, " he responded.
"Did daddy just save us?" Morgan asked. There was brief silence before he answred,
"Yes he did and we can go home now, " Peter said to her and she squealed in delight before jumping into his arms so he could carry her.

Returning home was the least surprising part of their day, Aunt May had been so worried when she saw them. She had been out of the apartment when Pepper attacked, trying to get to work. She ran back in once she saw Pepper fly through the window and knock over her wall. Peter was glad that she wasn't present for what happened after because the last thing he needed was for someone to hurt her while trying to save him. After a long explanation of what happened followed by tears and screams May agreed not to ground her nephew for the rest of his life.

Later that night after May had stitched up Peter injuries, Morgan had fallen asleep on his lap exhausted from the days events.
"She's had a rough day, its amazing that she can sleep now, " Peter commented once he noticed that she had fallen asleep, he didn't dare to raise his voice in fear of waking her up. May nodded and examined the two of them.
"She looks good on you Peter, " May noted and she meant it because neither of them could be without the other for long.
"Yeah? " Peter asked as he rested his head back and slowly stroked Morgan's hair.
"Yeah she does, " May confirmed with a smile.
