The boys fell for a long time, Mitch becoming convinced that the hole really was bottomless. After a while, there was a spot of light, and the boy's both became confused before blacking out.
Cameron awoke to unfamiliar surroundings, looking around, half dazed. Once he came to a bit, he immidiently looked around for his friend, who he spotted nearby. He crawled over to his friend, shaking him slightly.
"Mitch? Bro? Homie? You alive?" He said, half joking, half actually worried. The older boy groaned, causing Cameron to sigh in relief. Mitch's eyes fluttered open, looking over at his friend. "I thought you were dead, asshole," Cameron smiled slightly, pausing when he noticed something. The hell?
He brushed aside Mitch's hair, freezing. His friends once-normal ears were now long and pointed. Ah, I see. We're dead, he thought. Cameron reached up to his own ears, freaking out a little when he felt them come to a point. Mitch sat up, visibly confused at the sight of his friends now elongated ears.
"The fuck is up with your ears dude?" Mitch questioned, causing the younger boy to glare at him.
"Yours are the same you dickwad!" Cameron half yelled, obviously shaken. Mitch felt his ears, letting out a soft 'oh' as he realized his ears were, indeed, pointed.
"Dude. Do you think we're dead? Maybe the fall killed us?" Mitch looked around, not exactly hating the scenery around them. "I mean, if this is heaven or whatever, its really pretty," he stated. Cameron looked around for the first time, really looked, and realized his friend was right.
"Shit, I guess you're right," Cameron thought a moment, then looked back at his friend. "Well, since we have nothing else to do, should we explore?" He questioned.
"Yeah. Maybe we can find other people," The tall boy said as he stood, looking at the smaller boy. "Shall we, then?"

Cameron and Mitch walked for what seemed like ages, trying to process what had happened. Were they really dead? Did they just hit their heads, and are dreaming? Or were they in a..... nevermind. That's a stupid suggestion.
After a while of walking the night began to fall, causing the once beautiful trees to cast eerie shadows.
"Shit man, this place is scary as hell in the dark," Mitch commented. Cameron nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, should we try to find a place to camp for the night? I mean, it'd have to be in like a cave or sonething, unless we wanna freeze our asses off," Cameron joked, smiling at his friend. Mitch laughed, nodding.
"Yeah, that would be a good idea. Wanna look around?" Mitch asked the smaller male, who nodded in agreement.
"Yeah- you look over there, I'll look over here."

Both boys searched, Cameron eventually finding a small cave with leaves covering the entrance. Cute, he thought.
"Oi, Mitch! I found a spot!" He yelled in the direction of his friend. After a moment he saw his friend running towards him, his soft brunette curls bouncing as he did so. Mitch stopped and didn't even seem slightly winded from the sprint. How in the hell he's so athletic, I'll never know, Cameron thought to himself, punching his friends arm playfully.
"Come on, lets head inside. It's pretty cool," Cameron said as he pulled back the leaves to reveal the small cave. Mitch smiled and ducked to get in, being too tall to stand up straight. Cameron, who was a bit shorter than his giant friend, was able to easily walk in without ducking. Both boys sat, stretching their limbs from the long walk.
"We should sleep soon, so we can have more time to explore tomorrow," Mitch suggested. Cameron nodded, taking his jacket off to use as a pillow. He laid down, looking up at his friend. Mitch just stared down at the boy, and Cameron cocked an eyebrow.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Cameron snickered, causing the other boy to flush and laugh, rolling his eyes.
"Don't get too full of yourself, asshole. I was just looking at your ears. Still kinda freak me out," he admitted. Cameron snorted.
"Yeah, they are pretty freaky. But honestly, I like them. They suit you," Cameron winked at his friend, snickering. Mitch rolled his eyes and punched Cameron's arm, causing both boys to laugh.
Mitch layed back, using his arms as a pillow. After a while of small talk, the boys dozed off.

Near what he assumed was the middle of the night, Mitch awoke to a whimper. He glanced around trying to find the source of the noise, his eyes landing on his best friend.
Camerons eyebrows were furrowed, and he was shivering. Mitch touched his arm and felt that the boy was freezing.
Mitch poked the boy, trying to wake him. After a bit, Camerons eyes fluttered open and he looked at Mitch, smiling a little.
"M-morning already?" He questioned, the quivering of his voice confirming that the boy was cold as hell. Mitch opened his arms.
"Come," he flatly stated. Cameron quirked an eyebrow.
"What?" He questioned, genuinely confused.
"Youre freezing half to death, dude. We can keep each other warm. Body heat or whatever," Mitch shyly said the last sentence, almost like he was trying to convince himself that was the only reason. Because it was the only reason... Right?
Cameron pondered the offer, eventually putting his jacket back on and scooting over to Mitch, who wrapped his arms around him. Instantly the younger boy felt warm, smiling.
"Thanks, dude. I appreciate it," Cameron looked up at his friend. "No homo tho," he teased, wrappinghis own arms around his friend.
"Ha, yeah, no homo," Mitch agreed enjoying the newfound warmth the younger had brought.
