The Letters

This chapter is gonna be beautiful.

Also I may inform you that you are a Senior at this time.

Prom was about a week away and unfortunately, you haven't been asked out yet. Half of your friends were asked out and the rest of them were planning to not go or just go as a group. Each day, you see a new creative way that someone asks someone out to the prom. From using the old trident commercial to a poem. You actually helped your friend ask your other friend to the prom using a poem. And it went like

"Roses are red, voilets and blue, I'm going to prom, hoping I can take you too.
Will you go to prom with me?"
Luckily, it was a huge success. It's the end of the day and you have to study for a small quiz tomorrow and you haven't even done any of the assignments and you can't live to get another F or your parents will freak out.

As you open your locker a small paper with the letter W slips out. You pick it up confused of why it's in your locker. You shrug it off and put it away as you head to the library and head to your usual seat to study when you find another letter on the chair. This time it's a I and two L's.

You pick them up in such confusion in why papers with letters are appearing. You sit down and start reading when one of your friends pass by you and slip another letter on your book and quickly walk away.

You pick up yet another letter. It's the letter Y. You put the letters in your backpack and just continue reading and studying. After enough time you walk out of the library to get a drink of water and take to one of your Math teacher Mr. Fisher to ask is he has an extra credit worksheets when the librarian Mrs. Taylor comes running to give your book you forgot and you gladly thank her and continue when you feel another slip of paper under the book.

You slide the paper out and see it's a letter O and U. You go to the fountain to drink water and find your friend you helped with the poem. "Hey y/n, I got you a note as a little thank you for helping with the poem." You take the paper he is handing to you. "Do you have any idea why there are papers with letters around me?" You ask. "I don't know Tianna probably knows" He shrugs.

After you get your drink you take a look at the paper he has given you and see it's a letter G and O. "NATHAN THIS IS A LETTER COME BACK HERE AND TELL ME WHAT'S GOING  ON!" You scream as you run towards him but it's too late, he had already ran off.

You get your stuff and go to Mr. Fisher and walk in like nothing to see that he is in the room and stacking some paperwork. He turns around and notices you have walked in. "Y/n I was expecting you, I know your gonna ask for it because you don't want another F so here is some extra credit work to bring up your grade" He says handing you a stack of papers he was working on. You gladly take the papers surprisingly thinking how would he know you were gonna come in.

When you walk out you notice two more letters on top of your stack. It's a T and a O. You put the paper s in your backpack and go on the gymnasium to practice your flexibility. As you walk in you drop your stuff and start stretching. You end up getting bored and do some cartwheels and handstands because why not?

After a good stretch, you wall out of the gymnasium and see a paper fall from the ceiling. You pick it up and see it's another letter: a P, R, and a O. Once again, you put the papers away and keep walking around the hallways and notice people smiling as you walk by, as if their hiding something. Oh no, hopefully nobody has spread a fake rumor about you again.

You walk outside the school and see Tianna walking with Michelle. You quickly catch up with them. "Hey guys, do you know anything about random letters?" You ask as you pull out all the letters. They look at each other, you see a smile from both of them and they turn back and nod no. That's it. Something's up. Something is happening that you don't know about and not even your friends are telling you about.

You walk home to see your mom making dinner already. "Hey mom" you say. "Hey y/n how was school?" She says as she smiles. "Weird, people keep giving me random letters. And they won't even tell me what they mean." You say rubbing your head from such confusion. "Well, I guess your gonna have to wait to find out, maybe it's a surprise" she says as she hands out a plate with a napkin. Mom never gives out napkins.

The day has gotten even weirder. Random letters appearing around you? Your mom giving out napkins? Everyone is hiding something? You take the plate and napkin and eat dinner. As you reach for your napkin, you feel the napkin looks a bit thick, so you open it and see a paper slipping out. You pick it up and realize it's another letter.

How is your mom in this now? You take a look at the letter and realize it's the letter M.
Now you are literally so confused right now that you finish your food you get ready for bed and fall asleep.

The next day:

-timeskip getting ready-

You went downstairs and saw your mom watching the news saying it was going to be a pretty sunny day. "Mom, your onto something, you have the same papers as everyone else that they were giving me in school. You know something. Tell me please." You say literally begging her to tell you. "All I'm gonna tell you is when you find out, my answer will be yes" She then turns around and focuses back on the news.  "Have a good day at school. I know you will" She says as she winks at me before I walk out.

Wtf was that about? Again, you think about all your life's choices to what got you to this position and check the mail. There was no mail except for another letter. You take it out and see it's a whole combination of letters. There's a W, an I, an T, and an H. You put it in your backpack and head off the school.

-timeskip to Science -

You walk to science which you hate because the teacher is usually mean but today he was actually pretty nice. The test that was scheduled for today was cancelled and you could go on your phones and do whatever.

While you were making an edit for your friend, a student knocks on the door and the teacher tells you to go to the office because they have a letter for you. You take the pass and as you turned around you saw your teacher smile for the first time. You walked out to the office which wasn't far and you got an envelope. You opens the envelope and saw you guessed it. Another letter. It was a letter M. "You have something to do about this don't you?" You asked the office ladies. All they could say was you'll see and told you to go back to class.

-timeskip to lunch-

It was finally lunchtime and you were hoping that these letters would stop coming. You were sitting by your friends and as you were talking, a kid named Noah comes and sits in front of you.

Noah was a really popular kid and you were pretty suprised when he came to sit by you because you guys were somewhat popular. "Hey" he said. "Hey" you said back. "I just wanted to give you this" he said as he handed you another letter. "What the-" your take out all the other letters out of your backpack and start trying to match them to make a perfect sentence.

After about a few tries and help from some people, you finally make up what the sentence says. You read it to yourself and t reads:
Will you go to prom with me?

You look up at Noah to see him holding a bouquet of flowers. "Y/n y/l/n, will you go to prom with me?" You grow the hugest smile on your face and you get up to give him the biggest hug. "YES!" you say as he hugs you back.

He later explains that most of the school was part of dropping letters everywhere and not to ruin the surprise.

I am so proud of this chapter.
