(( sorry i got the chapters mixed up- anyways, sorry for the late update, HERE WE GOOO ))

The kiss lasted for what felt like years on end. Not like I was complaining, though.

Khur's lips tasted sweet; warm. I raised my hand up, gently cupping his cheek with my palm. His cheek was soft, but cold, and my palm only chilled it further. I stroked it, and I felt Khur let out a soft, low purr. He hummed gently in content as we kissed, and he broke it before I could do anything more. He smiled at me, his usual, loving smile.

Then it was dark. Flames rose around me, circling my body and engulfing it. Khur had frozen up, his hand gently on my waist and his eyes still fluttered shut. His warm lips, now burned against mine, and I jumped back, frowning and staring at him. With a snap, he turned to dust, just after melting and oozing down. I screamed as he did, his body a mere puddle of skin and bone. A figure started to appear from the puddle that was now morphed into the ground, the tall and slim woman with her long hair down to her back. She grinned.

"Help me," she whispered, her breath soft and warm against my neck.

I screamed.

My eyes slowly opened and I looked around. I shot up quickly, looking around. Khur was asleep, his chest rising and falling slowly as he slept. I could feel his warmth against me, my chest pressed against his. His arms and hands were limping around my body, and I smiled, realizing he held me in his grasp as he slept. I ruffled his hair gently, smiling and curling up with him.

His eyes opened, and I screamed again in surprise. A frown spread across his face as he gently touched my forehead.

"Why are you screaming, it's only," he looked at the time, groaning as he stretched. He wore a tight shirt with sweatpants, flopping back down onto the bed as he gazed at me. "Three, three in the morning. What's wrong, Bates?"

"Nothing, I'm okay," I responded quickly, and Khur pouted playfully.

"I don't think so, you better tell me," he said, pinching my side teasingly. I yipped and whined again, kicking him in the leg, right by his sensitive spot. He gasped and laughed, before tackling me and pinning me down. My face started to burn, and I knew I was blushing.

"A-Alright, alright!!" I said, Khur smiling and nodding, wanting me to go on. "It was just... a nightmare, I guess. I saw this girl, the one that I saw when I first came into your office." Khur growled in response.

"Celia," he mumbled, shaking his head. "What about her?"

"She wanted help, I don't know what about, but help. That was when it had ended. It was after we had kissed, everything went up in flames, fire, a-and-" Khur frowned and stopped me, pulling me into a hug and stroking my hair gently.

"Bates, sweet Bates, don't say more. Don't torture yourself by saying more, please," he whispered, and I felt myself panting and trembling. It might've not sounded scary to anybody else, but to me...

I shake my head, before nodding once more. I felt Khur gently kiss my head, making me smile and look up at him.

"Thank you," I said, looking at him. He nodded.

"Of course," he said in response, before snuggling me and whispering sweet and soft things into my ear as I drifted back asleep.

・・・

"What would you like to do today?"

I stared down at the waffle on the table, and I felt Khur lightly smack me upside the head.

"O-Ow! What the hell!" I swung at him, missing terribly.

"There's demons out there who would love to eat my waffles! Eat!" Khur said, and I ate with a pout, Khur smiling in content.
