TW: SUICIDAL THOUGHTS / DRUG USE / SEXUAL ASSAULT / VIOLENCE
(I will be inserting barriers before and after the S.A. for those who'd prefer to skip without the fear of missing the plotline. For those who choose to forge all the way through, please read at your own discretion!)
The chapter is a lengthier one, because in the best interests of my own mental health, I need to move past these events and get on with the story before I become an alcoholic... Not joking. My mental health took a hit with the last few chapters.
The series is and will continue to be a rollercoaster in general, but for the sake of all our sanities, I can assure you that this will be the FINAL overly-rocky-and-far-too-triggering chapter of this degree.
Like I've said, I portray real world problems in my work. And some things, I or someone I've known have struggled with 'said' problems. Yes, this is a work of fiction, but shit like this sadly happens, and I'm not one to sugarcoat. I've learned a lot in my life and this book was started in an effort to open some eyes while also letting people know they aren't alone.
(Also, I didn't thoroughly edit, so for any grammar/spelling critics out there, my apologies. But I spent too much time battling myself while writing this chapter.)
Alright! You got this! Be brave! And know my inbox is always open for those who need a sounding board. I love you!

(DAWSON'S POV)
Arriving at the warehouse just past midnight, there are approximately twenty of us waiting within the three black surveillance vans right outside the dilapidated building. A building that appears as if it's doomed to crumble with the impending breath of a gentle breeze. With the aid of sunset, a thin veil of trees off to the side shades our presence with an extra layer of protection from any nearby inquisitive eyes.
After we'd pulled up, Avery and Luca jumped out to run a quick surveillance of the property. Once they returned, Luca briefed us on how many vehicles they have parked around the back, bringing to our attention how off this whole endeavor feels. Sure, we expected that the Corsettis knew we were coming for them and our girl, but this looks too suspect.
Gabe had Austyn kidnapped for a reason. He, and whoever else is working with him, set us up to come here looking for her. To find them... A family that's well stocked in the knowledge of my late father's business dealings, just as much I was to theirs. Considering all those factors, there's only one plausible explanation as to why they took her over all the other avenues they could've taken in opposition to seek their revenge. Their goal was to get all of us cornered in a single location for easy disposal.
