It was dark. You couldn't feel the ground beneath your feet. In fact, you couldn't feel anything at all.

You shifted, not expecting to be able to move. However, to your surprise, you could. Raising your hand up, you inspected it, seeing it perfectly clearly, despite the darkness of the chasm in which you were held.

Turning suddenly, you tried to find a way out of the void, a steady panic ebbing into your thoughts.

"Shh," A soft voice met your ears. "Calm down, Angel."

This only caused your anxiety to increase, and you whipped your head around wildly, trying to find the source of the voice.

"It is alright," The voice crooned, and you felt a light touch graze your left cheekbone. "I will not hurt you."

The touch wandered steadily down the side of your face. Ever so gently tilting your head upwards when it reached your jaw. You could feel the voice's gaze take in every single detail on your face with an air of longing. Eventually, the contact came to rest on your throat.

"Not again," He whispered hoarsely, seemingly remembering something he wanted to forget. He murmured once more, almost inaudibly, "Never again."

"Who- who are you?" You asked nervously, peering aimlessly into the darkness. "Wh-what do y-you want?"

The touch slipped from your throat and instead brushed a hair away from over your eyes.

"You will meet me soon enough, my Fallen Angel."

You tried to stutter out another response but were cut off by the voice.

"You have to wake up," He hummed, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "You have a big day ahead."

Your eyes snapped open, yet you weren't fully awake. Stretching, you got up and steeled yourself for the day ahead.

The day of the Wing Ceremony.

You were playing the part of the shadow guard. One of the race who helped protect the Goddess.

Once you were up, dressed and breakfasted, you decided to go out and ride on your loftwing until the ceremony began.

Stood on the wooden ledge, you reveled in the sweet scent of the freshly blooming flowers as you prepared for your descent.

You drew in a breath…

…And stepped off the edge.

Wind rushed in your ears when you fell freely for a few seconds. Then, you flipped so you were facing up and whistled for your was bird, Pandora. Much like Link and Zelda's loftwings, yours was one of a kind.

She was mainly white, with black, grey and red accents. Apparently, she was the fastest that the academy had ever seen. Generally, her base speed was around the same speed as most other bird's charge.

It only took around a second from your call for her to catch you. You don't think you would ever top the feeling of freedom that came with soaring through the skies on your beautiful bird.

While you were appreciating the feeling of the mild wind in your skin, you saw a small figure falling from skyloft, and when you realised that their bird wasn't coming for them, you spurred your steed into a steep dive to go after them. Pandora only just caught him in her talons before climbing the wind to reach solid ground.

She dumped the person on the ground and landed harshly on the ground next to him. Carefully slipping from your loftwing's back, you noticed that the person was Link, one of the contestants for the Wing Ceremony.

"What-" You asked through deep, laboured breaths. "-was that?"

"It appears Link's loftwing has gone missing," Headmaster Gaepora replied slowly, seeming unsure of himself.

"But he is in the Ceremony this year," You hissed.

"Yes," He hummed, turning to Link. "Instructor Horwell is presiding over the Wing Ceremony this year, you will need to tell him about your loftwing and ask him to postpone the race."

"But, father," Zelda interjected. "If Link asks Horwell, he will just come talk to you about it."

"Good point. I will tell Horwell, and you three can look for Link's crimson loftwing."

"Okay…" You sighed. "Link, you go on foot. Ask around, see if anyone has heard anything. Zelda, you search around the island from your bird. I will do the same as soon as she catches her breath, okay?"

Once everyone nodded, the young boy set out on his search and the Goddess-for-today took to the skies.

Shortly after, once you had made sure your loftwing was unharmed, you followed.
