The man sighed. "If you insist." He said as he sat back down next to the fire.
"Here, let me take a look at those wounds." The girl said, walking over to the man and kneeling next to him. The wounds were a lot worse up close than they seemed when she first saw them, which was troubling. She grabbed some bandages and some fried-greens and got to work, wrapping his wounds. "Eat this."
"Fried-greens? Huh... I should've brought more of these..." The man said before eating the meal with his free hand. "Next time I'll bring more hylian herbs."
The girl ignored this and continued wrapping his wounds. "Alright, that should be good now." She said, finally sitting all the way down. She looked up at the hylian man, noticing more of his features, the most jarring being his short white hair and uncommon hairstyle. "Your complexion is hylian, but your hair makes you look very sheikah... Minus the red markings..."
"My hair..? Oh, right. My grandmother was a sheikah, actually. My mother was a half-sheikah, and now I'm a quarter-sheikah." The man replied, staring at the fire, a worried look on his face now.
"Is something wrong?" The girl asked, noticing the change in demeanor.
"Oh, yeah, yeah, sorry. Just thinking about my parents brought back a few memories I didn't really need right now... But it's fine." He smiled, looking over at the hylian girl.
She nodded...
A few hours later, after a good bit of rest, the two rose and began heading deeper into the cave. Neither one spoke much, which was awkward for the girl, but the man seemed to have no trouble staying silent.
"If I may ask, where exactly are we going?" The girl asked, holding her arms.
"Honestly, I'm not completely certain... I'm following this map, and I'm really hoping it leads me to what I ne-" He was cut-off by a rumble from the ground as an icy talus pulled itself from the ground and swung at the two hylians.
"What is that thing?!?" The girl asked, diving away from the talus.
"It looks like a talus, but made of ice?" The man said, jumping backwards as well.
"It was rhetorical!" The girl shouted, hiding behind a small wall of ice as the talus threw one of its arms at her.
The man leapt up to the talus and climbed to the top of it and swung his sword wildly at the black ore at the top of the creature. He got a good many hits before getting knocked off the talus, and the man went rolling.
The girl saw the man get thrown off, away from her, and she watched as the talus started towards the man, who didn't seem to be recovering quick enough on the icy terrain. Desperately, she grabbed her bow and knocked a peculiar looking arrow, and fired. The arrow hit the black ore square on and exploded, along with the ore, causing the talus to collapse and break into pieces.
The man stood up after coming to a halt, looking very confused before noticing the girl with her bow and bomb-arrows. He smirked. "Seems like those might've come in handy against those moblins..."
The girl got flustered and looked away. "Shut up. I'm not good with a bow."
"Really? Could've fooled me." He said with a shrug. "Seems like you've successfully saved me."
"I suppose I have.." The girl realized. "You wouldn't mind if I stuck around a bit longer, would you? I'm interested to see what it is that's so important to you that you'd risk your life for it."
The man thought for a moment. "Fair enough. No, I wouldn't mind. And besides, we seem to make a pretty good team, don't we?"
The girl rolled her eyes, but nodded. "It would seem so, wouldn't it?"
The man smiled and nodded before motioning for them to continue.
"Hey, I never caught your name.." The girl turned to the man as she said this.
"My name? It's Terrik, but I go by Tair." The man stated, almost as if it had been a while since he'd said his name.
"Tair, huh? Well I'm Yolen. Nice to properly meet you, Tair."
"You too, Yolen." The man said with a high degree of sincerity.
