Across the sun-touched meadows, ran a warrior. Most assumed her to be an elf, yet an elleth (she-elf) this warrior was not. She was running from the woods, making for the skin-changer's as fast as possible. Her feet flew faster than any elf could run.

"Why oh why did I have to heal him?" she muttered to herself. "Oh right, I love him. So now he'll figure out who I am and hate me."

Stepping over a stone, she paused to listen. She could barely make out a set of light footsteps before her attention was diverted to several heavier ones.

"Where's the girl?" a rough voice asked.

"She is near, I can smell her," replied another.

"Don't let her get away! Elarinya is a precious prize."

Inching away from them, and toward where the light footsteps had paused, the warrior's breath quickened. she knew it was only a matter of time before she was caught. Suddenly, a hand covered her mouth.

"Don't move," a soft voice warned.

"Where is she?" one goblin asked.

"She should be here." Another replied.

At this the girl stiffened, and the hand let go. "We don't have much time before they find us," she warned. Turning, she wasn't surprised to see his son. "Trust me, mellon nin." (my friend)

"I trust you with my life." Said he.

"Good." She replied.

Then she started chanting, her right hand on his arm, and her left hand on his mouth, covering his screams. When she was finished, a goblin stood in front of her.

"I will call you...Narzug."

"Harrumph. A little warning would have been nice. And a goblin? Please Eru, anything but!"

"Shh. Ready?"

"Fine. Ready."

At the count of three, the warriors burst out of the bushes, slaying the surprised goblins.
"By Morgoroth's name," one started, "She's feisty like master said. She'll take training." (By Morgorth's name is an overused goblin expression of surprise)

As soon as the goblin spoke, the girl fell to the ground, clutching her head. Two goblins ran over and tied her up. One of them was Narzug.

Thanks for reading this. this is my first fanfic, and it's been nagging me to write it. Just a heads up, I won't be able to update very often, maybe every month or if you're lucky every two weeks. I'm still figuring out how this works. I'll try not to drag all the author's notes out. I'm not very good at writing, so any help or critiquing is very much appreciated. (Bet you didn't think anyone would want you to critique their work!)
Thanks again for reading,

Andrew Michael
