Chapter 6

"Oh boy," Crypto thought as he kept his hands up. Natalie, someone he loved dearly, pointing a taser at him is the most uneasy moment he has had since he arrived in this alternate universe. What he should do was something he had no plan for as he didn't want to hurt her. Closing his eyes, he expected Natalie to have pulled the trigger and shoot two prongs into his chest by now. Every second felt like thirty as much of the blood in his body rushed to his head.

Nothing happened though after what felt like a minute where as he reopened his eyes, he saw her lowering the taser.

"Your that guy who szaved me in the ally way." Natalie was befuddled as to why her rescuer was in her living room uninvited. "Who are you zince I didn't get to find out after you pazzed out?"

"Hyeon Kim." Crypto said with perfect timing so as not to seem suspicious by saying it quickly. He knew he could keep his cool even if he had his hands up. They were getting tired though as Natalie hasn't told him yet to put them down. "Um... since you are no longer pointing that taser at me, can I put my hands down?"

"That dependz. Why you here exactly?" Raising the taser again, she looked up and down Hyeon trying to see if he is concealing any weapons. Him being big in muscularity was evident as she tried to not get distracted by it.

"I as well wanted to meet the person who saved me. If it weren't for you I would have bleed out and died that night."

"Howzs you know it wazs me?"

"When I woke up in the hospital, I asked Lifeline who brought me here and she said it was you. I then asked where I could find you and she said here. As I got here, the door was already open and I felt concerned that something had happened." He knew him asking Ajay about Natalie saving him wasn't true, but it was something to say so that she wouldn't think he was a creep. He hoped she bought it or else this could get really bad.

"Dang it Pathfinder. Why doesz he always leave the door open after he leavesz?!" She said this to herself looking down at the ground with a frustrated look on her face. "You can put your handsz down, I believe you." The taser was lowered and placed on the coffee table in front of the coach.

Crypto felt relieved as he just about couldn't hold them up any longer. "So... I should probably  leave before you change your mind and call security." Turning back around and about to walk out the door, Natalie said, 

"Wait, why don't you stayz for dinner. I would love to get to know you better Hyeon szince we both helped each other out." Her attitude perked up and she was all of a sudden very energetic. 

That was something Crypto liked very much as her being happy was something that always drove out the darkness. Accepting would be lovely, but he didn't want to have her become attached to him so soon. Declining would only make her sad where he did not want to see her that way. Conflict between these two decisions was building where out of frustration he said, "Yes!" The tone was loud and immediate. Now he was in trouble, if she found his response the same way he does, then there was a lower chance that he would get out of here without getting arrested.

"Wonderful. Zsince its only three thirty, why don'tz you come back around five and I'll have zsomething special made. You okey withz that?" She gave a bright smile standing there very excited.

"Okey," he said agreeing in a low tone. Now walking out the door and heading back down the hall he came, he couldn't believe what he had just accepted. Dinner, with Natalie, one that he doesn't even really know. He noticed how she looked at him. She looked at him like his did when they first meet, gazing at him with interest and the desire to be around him more. He wanted to be with Natalie again, he really did, but now it feels wrong and overly desperate to just go to another universe and start hitting on the Natalie of it. "Why, why, why did I do this?!" Crypto muttered under his breath becoming angry with himself as he began to increase his pace. Out the exit and into the city again, he was at lose for the purpose of this journey where he went back onto the streets with no destination insight until five that afternoon.
