Chapter 1: The Lonely Tree

"How long has it been since I came to this world?" I looked around at the familiar terrain I'm used to seeing, I looked around and nothing has changed, The land is full of grass separated by a little lake surrounding me in a small patch of land where I'm standing or at least rooted it also came with a little land bridge so you can cross the lake around me.

"It's been like, What? 12 days?" It's been 12 days since I died and came to this world? And all I do is just sit around and do nothing.
"And also I'm a tree, What the heck? I didn't ask for this!"

But maybe it was for the better compared to my previous life where I just sit around and do nothing, It has always been like this, I'm a disgrace as a human, I'm like a tree that does nothing but just sit around and suck nutrients around him. Maybe this is some sort of punishment? I'm like a tree that's why I'm reincarnated as a tree I'm a freeloader who just sits around doing nothing but cause trouble for his family, I bet they are relieved to see me dead for I cause nothing but trouble for them.

"Even so, something has changed" Like that rock over there it used to be near the lake but it is now over by the corner over there that has a huge hole. Ok that was unnecessary since Monsters are a thing in this world, Yes you heard me right Monsters are real, Now I can be a monster hunter and I can gather ingredients create traps and use monster hide to forge pieces of equipment, Ok that may have been a bad reference but who cares? It's not like there are people to judge me since I'm... alone... in this cave. I guess no matter what world you are in, the feeling of being alone is still there.

Don't get me wrong I have friends from my past world, Well if you count online friends then yeah I have many but most of them are very toxic and I hate toxic players so I unfriended them until I realized I have unfriended all of them for being toxic. "Toxic community huh?" I guess online friends aren't friends since the only online friend that isn't toxic to me is the one that I have always played with, You know that player that you met online and invites you to a party every time you logged in? Yeah, that kind of player. We have been playing for a half a month until one day he never logged in again. You know the feeling of losing your online friend and you can't even do something about it since to have no way of communicating? Yeah pretty sure all gamers feel that way.

"But first I must get out of this cave!" I can't even move from here and it's like I'm glued to this spot or rooted to be more precise, What am I saying? I am a tree and trees don't move even if they move I'll be like a Treant from that game I used to play, Pretty sure it's World of Farcraft? Wow, look at that! it has only been 12 days since I've arrived here and yet I'm already forgetting things? still, it was a good game (personal opinion).

"But still how can I get out of here?" I'm getting bored here since there's nothing to do apart from watching monsters fight for their territories.

But it all changed when I met this girl.

It was just a normal day, Well if you call monster fighting for territories normal then yes. Anyway, but as the dusk came, there it happened. What's that? How do I know if it's night or day even though I live in a cave? That's simple! It's because there's an opening on top of me leading outside so whenever it's day time the light shines from the opening to me and it is also why I can survive here in the cave, It's full of nutrients here and I can use the sunlight to pho​to​syn​the​size. What's that? You don't know what photosynthesis is? Oh, it's just a process of making food for plants. Wait? do trees even do that? Well if I'm doing it right now then that means yes and even if trees don't do it then keep in mind this is a fantasy world if monsters are a possibility then Trees photosynthesizing can also be possible too. Biologists, please don't hate me.

Anyway as dusk arrived I hear faint sounds of someone crying at first I thought it was a banshee so I just shrugged it off since banshees are pretty common here, But as I prepare to doze off I hear a loud thud, I glanced over where the sound was and I see..... A human child? It took me a while to recognize the child since she is far from me and uh.... she tripped from the rock that used to be near the lake but now it is over there by the corner over that hole. She seemed to come from there so I guess that's where the entrance is.
