In this storyline, Renesmee is 6 and looks 16 or 17. She knows about imprinting, but not that Jacob imprinted on her.

Renesmee POV

This is so unfair.

"Dad, why are you making such a big deal about this? It's just a date," I exclaimed. I was getting really agitated. I want to go on a date with Wyatt, a nice boy from school, but my dad, Edward Cullen, is over reacting.

"I'm making a big deal about this because he's  human," dad said.

"Really, dad?! That is so hypocritical! Mom was a human when you started dating her! Tell me the real reason you don't want me to go out with Wyatt," I said the last part softly.

"Okay, if you answer three questions completely honestly, you can go on a date with Wyatt," he said. At this my eyes widened. "Remember, I will know of you're lying, I can read your mind."

"Okay, ask away," I said.

"Question 1. Do you actually feel somthing for Wyatt, or do you want to go on this date just because he asked you?"

I sighed. I decided instead of talking out loud I will just answer in my head.

The truth is, there is someone else I really, really like, but I  doubt he'll ever like me back, so I  want to date Wyatt to get my mind off of him.

"Don't you think that's unfair to Wyatt?" Dad asked.

"I guess you're right. I will tell him I don't want to go on the date with him. After all, I only told him that I would think about it,"  I said. He nodded. "But, um, Dad? How do I know if someone likes me. Are there any signs that would give it away?" I asked, feeling embarrassed.

"There are some signs, but there is one way to really know," he said with a gleam in his eye.

I immediately knew what he was talking about.

"Dad, I don't think it's right to have you read his thoughts, to know if he likes me," I said.

"It may not be right. But it's hard to not read people's thoughts, so chances are, I'm going to hear them anyway," dad said.

"Okay, but still. I don't want to ruin my friendship with this person, so maybe it's better to just forget about it," I said, even though forgetting about him might be impossible.

"Well, who is this person," Dad asked, although, by how often I think of him, Dad might already know.

"It's Jacob," I say, blushing.

"That makes sense, considering how you're always blushing around him, especially when he has his shirt off," dad said with a smirk.

"Dad!" I exclaimed. "I do not blush," I said, embarrassed.

"What ever you say," he said with a wink. "Anyway, I think you should just tell him how you feel."

"What if he doesn't like me like that? It could ruin our friendship!"

"I assure you it won't, but you should. I need to talk to him first," dad said.

"Why do you have to talk to him?" I asked, hoping dad wasn't going to tear him to pieces.

He chuckled at my thoughts. "I'm not going to hurt him. I just need to have a guy to guy talk with him," he said.

"Okay, don't be to hard on him though," I said.

"Don't worry, Nessie, I won't be," he said walking out of the room to find Jacob.
