Their rush of adrenaline soon died out. Kira was getting worse as the sparks were growing in size and covered more of her body. "I don't know how long I'm going to last." She grunted, bawling up her fists."How did you stop it before?" Malia questioned.
"Scott and Angie carried me outside, which almost killed the both of them." Kira admitted.
Malia looked around the room trying to figure out a plan. "Okay, uh...Maybe we could try grounding you to something."
"You have a degree in electrical engineering? 'Cause I don't know how to do that." Another bolt shot out of her, almost hitting Malia but Angelina yanked her by the hand. "You have to get out of here."
"We can't leave you." Angelina argued.
"I should've stayed in the desert with the Skinwalkers. I can't control this. I'm never going to be able to." Their kitsune friend cried out.
"Kira, it worked. You saw it work. You controlled it enough to cause the brownout. You can stop it." Malia tried to help but Kira only spun around with her eyes glowing.
"I can't!" Her voice was distorted. "Guys, go!"
She clung to the freezers where the dead bodies were placed, electricity scattered across the whole thing. Sparks flew across the room causing Angelina and Malia to duck next to one of the tables. Kira continued to struggle for a moment until she collapsed to the floor.
"Kira?" Malia called out. "Kira." She said more sternly once she stood up.
She walked over to the side of Kira and crouched down, her finger about to reach her neck when another voice spoke up.
"I wouldn't do that."
The girls looked up to see Josh standing in the doorway. He looked very suspicious.
"Electricity's still coming off her. I can feel it from here." He began to walk towards them. "I can help her."
"Why?" Malia and Angie spoke in sync.
Josh sighed, "Because I need your help. With him." He moved out of the way to show Corey leaning up against a wall crying out in pain.
Angelina frowned and took a step forward, "You'll help her?"
"As long as you help Corey."
She walked out the door and gently held onto Corey, leading him back into the morgue. Josh helped lift him up onto one of the tables as he winced.
"Why isn't he healing?" He asked.
"Maybe he can't. Maybe it's too much." Malia shook her head. "Or maybe it's the pain."
"He's going to die, isn't he?"
"No. No, move." Angelina gently pushed Malia over and grabbed onto Corey's hand. "Corey, stop squirming."
His heartbeat slowed, she was not ready to see him dead again. Her veins began to turn black and she hissed slightly. Her eyes locked on Josh's, "Help Kira. Now!"
He nodded quickly and ran to Kira, he shakily hovered his hands over hers. He wondered if he would end up dead from this. But he still continued with his deal. Josh grabbed onto Kira's hands and felt the jolt of electricity course throughout his body.
Minutes passed as their labored breaths filled the room. Angelina hovered over the table, resting her head on her arms. Malia doing the same and Corey laying on top. Josh sat against the wall with Kira beside him. They helped each other, without any killing.
