Affluenza, Episode Two
AIN'T IT FUNNY, HONEY?
"You can't lie to me, Betty Boop," Kevin spoke to her as they walked to their next class, his Chemistry notebook tucked in his folded arms. "I know you feel something for him. It's all the sexual tension, I tell you." The hallway was filled with people and even though Kevin spoke rather loudly, he seemed to have piqued no one's attention. Discussing the topic of their conversation elsewhere would certainly turn heads, but it was normal talk in Riverdale Prep.
"Years of pretending to be mortal enemies and wanting to chop his dick off, I can only imagine how much sexual frustration you've got waiting to burst from that body. Just take my advice and...relieve yourself from the tension.
"For the millionth time, I'm not attracted to him. I don't even like him!" Betty argued, clearly bothered by their entire dialogue. However, there was that small break in her tone that was almost unnoticeable, but it can never evade Kevin's sharp hearing. He really did mean it when he said that he can always tell when Betty was lying. It was one of the few things he truly prided himself on.
"Liar! Besides, I'm not asking you to date him, just fuck him and put an end to your nonsense fighting! Honestly, you two butt heads so much that it's starting to get annoying, and that's a lot coming from me because you know I live for the drama." Betty scoffed at that statement, rolling her eyes a little. She shook her head and hoped for the conversation to end, partly because it was already forming a blush on her cheeks.
"Maybe you won't be so wound up tight if you satisfy your sexual needs, and you'll learn to finally have real fun. I know you're deprived of di—"
"How can you even tell if I'm deprived? My sex life is my business and no one else's. Besides," they stepped into the classroom, immediately heading to her usual seat in the middle of class. She made sure to pick one that had an empty seat beside it for Kevin. "I have my blazing hatred for him to keep me satisfied for the rest of my life."
"You haven't even seen him yet since he's gotten back. I've been hearing others say that he's hotter now, doesn't that tickle your fancy?" Kevin spoke, his lips curled up in a smirk. Although he hasn't seen Jughead yet, like Betty, he believed the multitude of gossip he happened to overhear while they walked through the hallways like it was the gospel truth. Especially when it came from Cheryl Blossom herself—that girl was hard to impress and never complimented anyone (except a select few, which Kevin was definitely not a part of).
So when even the red-haired Queen Bitch deems Jughead Jones hotter, then it must be true.
"Maybe take a look at him first, then reconsider your 'blazing hatred' for him," Kevin insisted, nudging her side with his elbow.
"Jughead may be attractive, but so are most of the guys here. I can name more guys that I'd rather be attracted to rather than that pompous asshole. Reggie's hot, Chuck's hot, Trevor's hot, even Archie is not terrible looking—"
"Don't let Veronica hear you say that, she'd scratch your face off. You know how she is with Archie, and how she also is with you and Archie."
Betty rolled her eyes, remembering that moment in time when she had a crush on Archie, who at that time proceeded to pursue a very reluctant Veronica. They were young, Archie lived the closest to Betty, and they were both climbing the ranks of popularity in Riverdale Prep. At the time, Betty thought they would make the perfect power couple.
Veronica, who also had a crush on Archie then, even resorted to threatening Betty so she'd keep her hands off the ginger stallion.
("Girl code, B!" was her argument.)
