A run. That's all you wanted to do. Just go for a run and get out of the house a bit and let off some stress.

You plugged in your headphones and slid your phone in your sweatpants pocket. You tied your shoelaces and pulled your hood over your head.

"Where you going?" You looked up as you were met with your mother, the last person you wanted to see.
"On a run."
"Bring me back some cigarettes." She shoved a ten in your hoodie pocket.

You pulled the crumbled bill out and stared at it in it's distressed state. You sighed, ready to tell her you weren't going remotely near a store but she was gone.

You folded the bill properly and put it back in your pocket. Finally you were out the door, locking it back before you jogged down the steps.

Once you reached a road, you started to jog, crossing the road with everyone else.

It was nice seeing people out. Couples walking hand in hand. Friends taking pictures by buildings. Family's shopping together. It was all so refreshing. You took a few minutes to take in the scenery in Tokyo. You smiled lightly as you pulled your hood down and set your headphones back in your pocket.

"I guess I could find a convenience store around here." You mumbled to yourself, feeling the money in your pocket.

Quickly, you found a convenience store and bought the cigarettes and got a bottle of water for the run back. You took a couple of sips as you exited the store, the bag of cigarettes in your hand.

You looked up at the sky as fireworks started to go off. Everyone noticed and looked over, curious.

Shrugging your shoulders, you start to run back to your home, bracing yourself for noise you would here when you got back.

Surely enough, before you even got to the door, you could hear it. Your mother yelling at your stepfather. You never understood why she insisted on moving on from your father so fast. You rolled your eyes as you opened the door and kicked your shoes off.

"Mom! I got your cigs!" You yelled and sat them on the counter. Your step dad came down first, not acknowledging you. "Tell her they didn't have lighters." You say to him as you jog up the steps.

You can hear him scoff just before you close your room door and strip out of your outside clothes, tossing them in your hamper.

You go into your bathroom and start the shower, grabbing everything you need as the water gets hot.

~~~~
You let the water rinse your body as you listen to the music echo in the bathroom. Suddenly it stops, the water turns off and the light goes out.
You suck your teeth and wrap your towel around you stepping out the shower. "Mom! The lights went out!" You yell as you dry off and get dressed into some sweatpants and a t shirt.
You get no response from your mom. You leave your room and knock on her door.
"Mom?" No answer.
"Okay I'm coming in." You give a warning, looking away as you push the door open.
You turn and look into the room. No one was in there. "Mom?" You looked behind the door as you stepped in. You open the door to her closet and bathroom. No one.
"What ever you're trying to play isn't going to work!" You yell into the nothingness hoping she could hear you from where ever she was. You peek out her window and see her car still in the driveway. But no one on the streets. Just the wind blowing litter down the road.
An uneasy feeling comes over you. Whatever was happening, you didn't like it. You go into the front room and put on your sneakers.
"Okay! I'm leaving! I'll be back!" You yell again hoping to get an answer that time but nothing.
You open the door and make your way down the street to the same mall area you found yourself early.
The only thing different was the lack of people. The air was chilly and you could feel yourself beginning to panic.
"Hello!?" You yelled. No one answered. You ran to a different spot in the mall.
"Hello?!"
"Hey!" Someone answered. You turned towards the voice and you saw three boys jogging towards you.
"Hey!" You met with them and smiled. "Where is everyone?" You asked.
"We don't know either. We were just in the bathroom."
A tall boy with a tropical shirt and gold blond hair said. To his left was a boy in shorts and a t shirt looking like he just got out of bed. To his right was a boy that looked like he just got off of work.
"Do you think we are the only ones here?" The one to his left asked.
"It seems like it. The mall was filled just a couple of minutes ago." You laugh trying to play off your confusion and fear. "I'm y/n." You say.
If you were going to be stuck with them, you might as well know what their names were.
"Chota." The work guy said.
"Karube." The tall one said.
"Arisu." Beach shorts nodded.
You started to memorize the names and sighed. You guys hungry?" You asked. You got various versions of yes.
"I'll look for other people." Karube said as he ran off.
"I'll go try and stock up on supplies." Arisu patted Chota's back and he ran off.
"What about you?"
"Uh well. I can stick with you right?"
"Sure. Lets find something to eat."
~~~~

No one was found, even though they looked well into  the night. All you guys could do was sit, eat and hope for the best.

"Where do you think they went?" Karube asked.
"I don't know." You shrugged. "But I know whatever this is, we'll make it." You reassured them. More so yourself.

It was mostly silent aside from the clinging of forks against plates. You were just settling in with the fact that you were all alone now. No more mom and step dad. No one to run away from. It was kind of nice.

You close your eyes and sigh.
"You know what? Maybe this isn't so bad." You start before a huge screen turns on. You turn towards it and set your fork down.
