I was nervous. Of course I was, I was about to be assigned to a new human, and since I was experienced it would probably be a difficult one. After my last human was no longer scared of me (He was 18, it happens, I can't say I'm mad about it, although I did like that guy..), I was taskless. I'd been doing odd jobs around the headquarters, sometimes doing special assignments like scaring some teens in a forest, or having a ghost hunter shit themselves, but overall I had been waiting for my next big project. And here it was. Ms. Nessie had called me into her office early in the morning. And here I was, waiting outside her door until she called me in. "Vermin", was all she said. She wasn't very talkative, but she was kind and a good boss. I entered her office and sat down.
After she gave me a brief overview of my new human (A college student named Theo, he didn't seem all that interesting.), she cleared her throat: "Now, there is something else important I'd like to discuss with you before you leave." I looked at her, unable to discern her expression. "Your new situation might be... Different, than you're used to." I raised an antennae. "Theo lives in a small dorm space he shares with his roommate, Max. They.. Share a bunkbed." At first I didn't understand the problem, but then it dawned on me. "Wait, I'll be..?" Fuck. A bunkbed only has one space underneath it. Both people sleeping in it will be assigned monsters. Which meant- "You will be sharing the space with another monster."
