Sebastian scrubbed on his hands and knees, his hair pushed back using a bandana, he'd been working for nearly 6 hours now, back and forth in an endless motion with his rag, a rag! That brat gave him a rag and told him to scrub the entire main halls floors, I guess he shouldn't complain, he was being paid good money to do work like this, but he surely wasn't being paid enough to deal with the blond boy waltzing into the manor, tracking mud onto the newly pristine floors,
"Mr.Sebastian! Young Master told me to come and help you out with the floors." The boy grinned at Sebastian, who was trying his best not to kill the blond then and there,
"Did he now?" Sebastian gripped the rag even tighter,
"Well, why don't you go and sit over there, and let me do the work?" Sebastian stood, stiffly walking over to Finnian, lifting him by his underarms, and placing him on a step of the carpeted staircase,
"But Young Master wanted me to help, I don't want to defy him!" Finnian crossed his arms,
"I'll explain it to the Young Master, don't worry about a thing, okay?" Sebastian smiled at Finnian sweetly, too sweetly, and stiffly turned his heel and went to clean up Finnian's tracks.

After another three hours of work, one half of the main hall was sparkling clean, Sebastian stretched his back, it popping in multiple places, he was getting too old for this...
"Come here and do the other half." Sebastian watched as Finnian jumped to his feet excitedly,
"Wipe your feet first!" The raven-haired man shouted at the boy, who was about to step on the pristine half of the room with his muddy shoes again, Finnian begrudgingly wiped his feet on the carpeted staircase, making Sebastian wince, More work to do later... The raven-haired man thought, sighing as he stiffly stepped over to Finnian and handed him a rag and a bucket,
"Get it done within the next four hours, Young Master has guests coming." Sebastian didn't even bother to watch Finnian's jaw drop as he turned his heel and noiselessly walked out of the main hall, pulling on his pristine ivory-colored gloves.

After four hours of grueling work, the main hall was both thoroughly scrubbed and dried, much to Sebastian's shock. Ciel, his face much pinker than it was that morning, most likely from a sunburn, stepped into the main hall, admiring Finnian's work,
"It's pristine, you could learn something from him, Sebastian." Ciel pat Finnian on the shoulder, a small smirk on his face as he stared up at Sebastian,
"Mr.Sebastian did half of it, Young Master." Finnian stammered, seemingly afraid of Sebastian's glare,
"Don't be so modest, Finnian, Sebastian wouldn't have done it this well." Ciel was clearly mocking Sebastian, judging by that mischievous twinkle in his sapphire-tinted eyes,
"S-surely he would've, sir, Sebastian is a rather diligent worke-" Finnian began, though Ciel cut him off by snapping his fingers,
"Finnian has surely earned himself a seat at the table with me and my guests! Wouldn't you agree, Mister Michaelis?" Ciel stepped away from the two servants, looking over his shoulder at Sebastian, giving him a cheeky grin before going out of the main hall and to his study,
"Was... There a reason for Young Master to show that much hostility, Mister Sebastian?" Finnian hesitantly asked the taller man,
"Surely." Sebastian deadpanned, an air of sarcasm present in his voice,
"I'm going to go prepare dinner now, Finnian, make sure not to track mud everywhere." Sebastian turned on his heel and stepped out of the main hall, leaving Finnian standing there.

Little did either of the two servants know, Ciel had been watching Finnian work from the top of the stairwell the whole time, he'd snuck in shortly after Finnian arrived inside, finding the outdoors boring.

Watching the young gardener work was... Rather enjoyable, though, he couldn't seem to figure out why...
Surely it was because he enjoyed knowing that his servants were following orders!

Yes, surely...
