Sometimes stories don't need heroes. Sometimes both parties are in the wrong. Sometimes it's your decision.
Asashi sat in his room, every time the shouting got louder, he simply turned up his music. Rings under his eyes showed up clearly against his sickly pale complexion. He often liked to pretend he wasn't there, that he simply didn't exist, and zone out completely. It was hard to write his assignment in this environment, he either heard dangerously loud music, or frustratingly loud arguing.
Once he had finished writing, he laid down on his bed, covered his head with his pillow and eventually fell asleep.
Asashi awoke and sat up. His fluffy pink hair went every which way as he put his books into his bag, partially crumpling the assignment. His school uniform hung on his small frame, making it difficult to grab things with his too-long sleeves covering his hands.
"I'm going to school!" no reply, "as expected..." He muttered to himself, picking up an apple on the way out for his lunch.
As he started walking to his dreaded school, he saw Hansuke. It was a well-known fact that Asashi liked him and had asked him out before, he was teased a lot for this.
"Hansuke-kun!" Asashi called as he crossed the road, almost getting hit because he didn't look, "Good morning!"
Hansuke looked unamused at Asashi who was blushing because he had been noticed,
"What is it, gay boy?" The rest of his friends laughed,
"Oh, I- n-never mind." Asashi looked at his feet in embarrassment, having just been humiliated in front of half of his class. He walked quickly, to avoid the insults being hurled at him by the others. He felt a gentle tap on his head, it was unmistakably Guritchi, his best friend who, despite the fact that it meant being unliked and outcast, stayed by his side and always stuck up for him. She hit him with her book again,
"wake up, daydreamer," She laughed, a sympathetic look in her eyes, "we gotta get to class." Along with the usual stuff, the bullying and the acting like he wasn't there, his other best friend, Rio, had died recently. He was shot whilst walking home because he tried to stop someone being mugged. Rio wasn't popular either, so most people just got on with their lives, and acted like nothing happened. Asashi couldn't focus. He just stared at the empty seat with tears in his eyes, occasionally looking at the blackboard and taking notes. Without realising, he was crying silently.
