"Truth or Dare?" asked Kenna.

"Dare, don't make it bad!" Dylan responded.

"I dare you to kiss me at midnight, I heard Aunt Angie asked Uncle Tom to kiss her at midnight!" Kenna exclaimed.

"Ew, no! You've got cooties." said Dylan.

"It's a dare, you have to do it. Its the rules." said Kenna.

She sighed and let a tear fall down her face. She wiped it away and mumbled "Okay, then I dare you to go and give Jess a kiss on the cheek!" She smirked as she knew he would never do that because he hated Jess more than anyone. Jess was Kenna's bitter teenage sister who everyone was scared of. She would push Dylan away in a second even if he hugged her.

"No, she'll hurt me, you stink at dares, you know." He replied with a laugh.

"It's your fault for picking dare" cried Kenna angrily.

"Okay, I will kiss you at midnight. But you can't tell anyone, okay?" Dylan asked.

"Deal." Kenna responded with a grin.

"I don't want to play anymore, let's do something else." demanded Dylan.

"Fine" Agreed Kenna.

They went to the basement with all the other kids and played hide and seek until the countdown for New Year's. Kenna's parents called them up along with the rest of the kids for the last 5 minutes. Dylan sat down on the sofa and Kenna followed.

"Do you still want to kiss me?" asked Kenna.

"You said that I have to, because it's the rules." replied Dylan.

"You don't have to do it. But I've
got an idea, how about we do a challenge for 2010 and whoever wins by this day, next year, has to kiss the loser. I saw this on TV and I want to do it, Dyl" offered Kenna.
"Okay, I challenge you to get a boyfriend this year!" exclaimed Dylan.
"Fine, I challenge you to get a girlfriend!" replied Kenna.
"What are the rules?" asked Dylan.
"1. No Faking or Cheating, 2. You need proof, like a picture or something, 3. No talking about this to anyone but me. And you can't talk to me about it until next New Years Eve, & 4. Loser has to kiss the winner, no matter what." said Kenna.
Kenna made this up on the spot, but she liked the rules.

Everyone was cheering and drinking since they were ecstatic about the new year. Kenna was sitting with her family and Dylan was with his.

Kenna was tired from running around with the other kids when they were playing, she felt her eyelids getting heavier but stayed awake for the countdown.

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6.." everyone yelled excitedly.
"5, 4, 3" mouthed Kenna.
She closed her eyes and counted the last 2 seconds, in her head, falling asleep.

A/N:
This is just the introduction, or part of it. There will be longer chapters but this and the next few parts will explain what the rest of the book is about. The year is 2009 to show that's when they started the year long challenges.
