He showed up at his workplace early as per usual, and started opening up the store. Once he noticed customers and his fellow employees were starting to flood inside the store, Fallon walked behind his designated cash register and got ready for a draining 6 hour shift.

His first customer was a young woman, maybe early 20s.

"Hello, did you find everything okay?" He asked in his robotic-like voice, not really listening, but instead focusing on scanning the books that the woman was buying.

"Yes I did.." She replied, trailing off mid-sentence.

"Hey, did you read the article this morning about the paramedic who went insane?" The woman asked, choosing her words very carefully.

Fallon looked up at the woman. This again?
"Yeah, I did read that article. I'm assuming it's overly exaggerated." He replied.

"Possibly, but the man apparently escaped the hospital. It's said that he jumped out a window on the third floor and ran out into the downtown area."

The downtown area? We're in the downtown area right now...

"Oh, well I doubt he could do much harm, ri-" Fallon started his sentence, but was interrupted by a bloodchilling scream coming from outside the store. He whipped his head around to the glass windows, and stared outside to see what was going on.

What he saw was scarring. There was a man in his late 30s pushed up against the wide window of the store. He was all bloody and pale, with his hair was sticking up and pulled out in chunks, his jeans were torn and dirtied from mud and blood. One of his arms were mangled and a bone was visibly poking through. The man had a wild look in his face, pupils dilated. He had his eyes fixated on the woman that Fallon was helping at the cash register.

"It-it's him. That's the paramedic that escaped from the hospital," The woman said, stuttering on her words. She looked at Fallon with wide eyes, and slowly made her way towards the door near the window that the man was pressed up against.

"Ma'am, I don't think that's the best idea." Fallon stammered. How dumb is this woman??

The woman walked outside, and stood right in front of the man. Her head started twitching rapidly, and she fell to the concrete, screaming.

Then everything fell silent. She stopped screaming, everyone from inside the store just watching. Fallon caught himself holding his breath for the woman, but continued breathing as normal when he noticed he was getting light-headed.

The woman slowly and shakily got up, then looked directly at the thick window. She took a step back, then with all her strength, she sent herself flying towards the window, obviously trying to break something. A loud crack echoed when her head made impact with the window, but she kept moving as if it didn't even affect her.

What?? This seems like super-human strength!

As more people approached the woman to help her, more amounts of people started trying to harm themselves. It was like something out of a zombie apocalypse.

Fallon looked around him for an escape route. He spotted his collegue, Emrys, grab a crowbar and run into the backrooms, and he noticed that it was his only way out.
