A Sad Day For All

You're in Tony's house, watching as he talks about the time travel mission and how it was risky. You feel tears fall down your cheeks as he gets off the chair and it looks like he goes up to Morgan and says his final goodbye to her before the hologram shuts off. You walk outside with everyone and take your place with Carol by the stairs. She puts her hand on your shoulder in silent support, you put your hand on hers and squeezes it in thanks before you let go and let your hand fall back to your side.

You watch as Pepper leans down and places the flowers bouquet with the mini arc reactor from Tony's suit into the water. You can see everyone around you and your eyes land on Peter and his aunt, you watch as Peter sobs and looks away. Tony was like a father to him and you were there for Tony when he suffered with the loss of Peter for those five years.

"Auntie Y/N!!" Morgan yells and runs towards you, not knowing you were in the house. You pick her up and swing her around while she laughs and screams "Put me down! Put me down!"

"What's up little M?" You say as you finally put her down. She giggles and looks at Carol sheepishly, cocking her head to the side. Carol cocks her eyebrow and stares down at the little girl while smirking.

"Who are you?" She asks while letting go of your hand in favor of crossing her arms. You laugh at her sass, something she definitely got from her dad, and gently swat her arms away giving her a look that says 'don't be rude'.

"I'm Carol Danvers, wanna see something cool?" She says looking down at Morgan who nods eagerly. Carol chuckles and lights up her hand and Morgan stares in amazement. You laugh at the star struck expression on Morgan's face, who then turns to glare at you for laughing.

"Come on kiddo, I think Uncle Happy is getting lonely sitting on that bench all by himself." You comment as you push Morgan in the direction of the bench. She smiles and waves at you and Carol before going to sit with Happy.

"So what happens no-" Carol starts to ask but gets cut off by you suddenly hugging her and burying your face in her neck. She is taken by surprise and tentatively wraps her arms around you as she feels wetness coating her skin. She rubs your back and smiles at people passing by, nodding their understandment. Everybody who knows Tony, knows you. You were like a package deal.

When Shield found you, you had just started turning invisible. They wanted to turn you into an assassin so Nat started training you which is how your relationship with her started. She told Tony about you and for some reason he was super protective of you, he fought Shield on turning you into an assassin and you hated him for it. You finally had a purpose in life and he took it away, as you look back on it you thank him. If you had started killing, you don't know what you would be today. After he gave you a new and better mission you guys became inseparable.

"Are you ready?" Carol asks, holding you at arms length. You nod and sniffle wiping away your tears from your face. She smiles down at you and you back out of her arms at the sight of Pepper at the water.

"Hey P," You say gently as you approach her and stand beside her. She looks to you and tries to smile but can't quite bring herself to do it. You take her hand in yours and give her a small squeeze, she squeezes back and sighs.

"I told him to do it," She starts while looking at the water. "I told him to go build a time machine and I told him to not worry about us, that he'll come back to us."  She laughs but it's not one of joy it's one of coldness. You frown and look at the bouquet of flowers floating in the water.

"It's not your fault. You wouldn't have told him to go if you had known what would have happened. Plus," you said looking at Pepper now. "Strange said that there was only one in a 14 million chance that we would win." You say facing her fully. She looks at you and finally manages to smile at you. You let go of her hands in favor of giving her a hug which she returns and then you let go and say goodbye.

"Goodbye Y/N. Thank you for that." Pepper says while wiping a tear that had fallen. You smile and nod as you walk away and back to Carol. Carol smiles at you and takes your hand. You both wave bye to Morgan who is now sitting on the bench alone and walk to the black car that's waiting for you.
