Evelyn and Evelina Stoner. Also known as the abominable twins. Evelyn had a spiteful, competitive and jealous nature. Evelina, on the other hand, was kind gentle and supportive. Evelyn only did things with the pleasure of competing with her sister. Anytime Evelyn was getting better grades at school, she would lord it over her sister but Evelina was gentle and whenever she was getting good grades she would just be happy for herself. but even though Evelina was gentle and patient she too was human and often got annoyed and fought with her sister. Their parents wondered why they could never just be sisters and act normal sometimes.
When they were in their college years Evelina took a liking to music and theatre. She was very good at it. Evelyn took to the theatre too but only to the pleasure of doing it better than Evelina. Evelyn wasn't even half as good as Evelina in music and Evelina became a very successful actress and singer before she could blink. Her parents and relations were very proud and her friends too. all except Evelyn She couldn't even bring herself to congratulate her sister. Evelina realized this and was not surprised. "Same old Evelyn," she said to herself.
Evelyn tried her best to outshine her sister but she did not have enough heart and passion to become even half as successful. Now Evelina was living her best life and was longing to reconcile with her sister. But Evelyn on the other hand was thinking the exact opposite. She wanted her sister to step out of the spotlight long enough for her to step into it and take over. She began to scheme and think about ways to make her go missing. Then she got a very wicked idea.
"Are you sure this place is safe Evelyn?" said Evelina feeling happy that her sister wanted to reconcile. " Positive Evelina! " Evelyn said hiding the sly smirk on her face. they went deep into the forest. "Ah, the perfect picnic spot! " Evelyn said with glee. Evelina was already comfortable in the picnic mat when Evelyn exclaimed '' Oh no I forgot to get the lemonade !'' Evelina looked calm and said '' Surely Eve we can have our picnic without lemonade." " Oh no we can't! " she said. " I am going to the car to get it, I won't be long. " " Um, ok then be back soon! " said Evelyn wondering why her sister was so eager to get the lemonade. Evelyn found her way back to the car but didn't bother to get the lemonade. Instead, she started the engine and smiled evilly. "Goodbye Evelina!" she said with a cackle and drove off.
Evelina was very confused at how long Evelyn was taking " Really it mustn't take that long just to get a bottle of lemonade ." she said. She was getting hungry and annoyed she tried Evelyn's phone. Switched off. '' What is going on! " Surely Evelyn didn't forget the lemonade at home and drive off to get it ?" " She should've told me if she did ! " she was beginning to get suspicious of the situation. Had Evelyn left her on purpose? , Had she lost her way in the forest looking for her way back?
It was getting cold and dark and Evelina now was completely convinced that Evelyn had left her on purpose. She was very angry and hurt. '' Why would she even do such a thing ! '' said Evelina angrily. '' What will she gain by doing this? , My part in a movie ?!'' I just don't understand what this is all about!" She lay down on the mat eating the last biscuit in the biscuit tin. She began to feel tired so she covered herself with a shawl and fell into a deep sleep. She woke up the next morning and decided to try her luck on finding her way out of the forest she ate a sandwich from the picnic basket with some milk as her breakfast, then set off into the forest, She passed many great trees and began to get closer to the end of the forest when she saw an old man. He looked tired and hungry. She decided to offer him some of the food from her picnic basket. "Excuse me, sir." She said with a kind smile. The old man looked up and smiled "Hello young lady, lovely morning, isn't it?''. " Yes quite lovely.'' "Would you like a sandwich?" she asked him, " Oh yes, thank you." he said taking one of the remaining sandwiches ." Whatever are you doing here in the forest by yourself?" he asked enquiringly. " Well, um...I can't exactly explain. It's complicated." "Fair enough." helping himself to more sandwiches. when he was done. He told her that she was very kind. He put his hand in his pocket and brought out a little silver box with a fire opal and and a blue sapphire embedded on it. "What's this?" Said Evelina
