Part 18: Dinner

Serenity's pov

I did a spell for granddad to be back to life. I miss him and need him to be around permanently because I love his hugs. I was finally done and I heard his voice.

Mikael:"Where is my Dove?"

Ren:"Grandad!!"

I sped up to him hugging him tightly like he does to me. I look up at him with a big smile and he smiles back. I told him about all the good things out family has done and he feels guilty. He loves his children, even my father but his too afraid to show.

Mikael:"I missed you my little Dove"

Ren:"I missed you too. Come on, we're having a dinner with some juicy family drama"

Mikael:"Lovely"

We walked up to the table as the spare seat where Inadu was sitting is empty. I took that seat as did Mikael took my seat who looked nervous.

Mikael:"Hello my children, their partners and Hope. I would like to apologize for the fear I inserted in my own children for over a thousand years. I was scared and jealous of the bond you had and felt like you would all leave me someday. So I was filled with anger and rage"

Klaus:"That's alright, father. Serenity brings the best in almost everyone. Even the most feared hybrid and his siblings"

Everyone agreed. Elijah looked down in shame as I sat next to him.

Mikael:"My children and Elijah, I would like to make amends and spend time with you since I'm back to life."

Rebecca, Freya, Kol, Nik and Elijah:"Of course"

Mikael:"I'm very happy that you all found loving partners and well, it's a shame for you Elijah. You have a bitch of a wife and daughter, or should I say step daughter"

Klaus:"Indeed father and that's not my daughter, that's Elijah's, he raised her. The people who raises you becomes your family."

Seren:"Dad, I wanted you to try and at least consider her your daughter. Just try"

Klaus:"My sweetest child, you are too pure for this world and too kind towards them"

Mikael:"I agree, you always try and help others even when they've hurt you. But that's what makes you my Dove, pure and innocent"

Ren:"Grandad, remember that day we were invisible in our room and Hope tried stealing my grimore but it burned her"(I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought)

Mikael:"Yes, I remember and then she screamed and kick around on the floor"

Grandad and I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought and the look on Hope's face made us laugh harder making dad, mum, and my aunts and uncles chuckle.

Mikael:"We should really get to the desert and drinks. I hope we have wine"

Seren:"I got the finest red wine and for my father, Kol, Marcel and I, the bourbon. At least we can't get drunk"

We drank and ate cheesecake but I needed to ask the question I've waited to ask for 10 years. Nows the time

Serenity:"You know, when I would see Hayley and Hope spending time together I would call grandad and talk to him. He knew his reasons behind everything he did but what's your reason Hayley?"

She sighed hearing the question which was bound to be brought up. I never really thought that she had any real reason.

Hayley:"When you born, it was so easy to tell the difference from you and sister. You had brown hair and hazel eyes while Hope had red hair and blue eyes. You were calm and quiet while Hope always seaked attention even though you got it without doing a thing. Every Mikaelson loved you and it was evident that you're the favorite. But when I looked at you, I saw my mother."

She paused very dramatically if I might say. What does her mother gave to do with me?

"I had a single photo of my mother who died and you look so much like her, like me. I saw the woman who was killed keeping me away from the thing that killed her and tried killing me. When you got older, you got more beautiful and people would stare at you in awe, while I could only see my mother. It hurt so much so I hurt you and then I would tell Hope that you want to take me away from her. It was even worse when the very thing that killed my mother is inside you, loving and protecting you like a mother should."

Inadu appeared behind me and I knew she was angry. Her emotions are flaring and sadness rising.

Inadu:"Do you know what your mother, grandmother, great grandfather and all your ancestors did to me. My daughter tried to kill me, my daughter's daughter did the same. For over 1500 years, every Labonair tried to kill me and  to protect myself, I killed them. All I wanted was to live my life with my daughter but my mother envied my power and turned my daughter against me. She made everyone believe that I'm some monster."

Tears came out if my eyes as she told me this once before. The pain she pains is similar to mine even if I'm part of the blood who hurt her.

"Until I met Serenity, who had a smile on her face as she saw me, seeing good in the bad everyone saw. My heart shattered wishing that she was my daughter because she loved me like a daughter would. I did my best to protect and broke her curses so that she could be strong and protect herself. Your mother held a sacrificial knife to my throat when all I wanted was to ask help to get me into my body. But now I want to be a spirit that can always protect Ren. I am and was always a better mother than you."

Klaus:" Look at that, a supposed evil spirit is a better mother than you. Lovely"

Kol:"So all those stories I've read about the most powerful and evil witch to exist is a lie caused by your mother because you're powerful. Hmph"

Rebecca:"Well our mother had many attempts to kill us and succeeded. She said that we're monsters, abominations when she is one who did this to us"

Klaus:"But in the end, she gave us life. In her own way she loved us and died protecting us. She raised us and therefore is our mother"

We finished dinner and they were getting ready to leave.

Serenity:"You all are not leaving, I already prepared the guest bedrooms for you. Including Hayley, Hope and Elijah. I may hate you but I will not allow you to drive this late and have a possibility of being in danger"

Klaus:"My daughter, always so kind"

Seren:"But for now, everyone can go to your rooms. There's spare clothes on the bed as each couple will share. Grandad, you're with me because I missed your stories for 2 weeks."

I grabbed him and telleported to my room where we sat and talked all night. I even told him about Josie. I assume everyone went to their rooms thinking about all they learned. Inadu is hurt, I can feel it and it's not her fault. They judge her but I try and see good in people. I can't find it in Hayley, at least not for me. But I do hope father forgives Hope or not, I don't really care.
