Passion

Garry stood at the end of the hospital bed, in front of him was a frail woman, too weak to move. Across from her was Debby, Garry's older sister. A short blonde haired woman who is in her mid-forty's with bags under her eyes to show the years worth of stress.

"She's been like this for a while" Debby said.

Garry walked closer to the woman on the bed.

"Garry, I just can't do this alone anymore. I need your help. How can we continue supporting mom's life, we got nothing" Debby added.

Garry just sat on the side of the bed just when his mother's hand moved and reached for his.

"Who are you young man?" she asked.

"Garry" he replied with a flat face.

"That's your son, mom" Debby spoke.

"Mom? I'm your mom? I don't recall having children" the woman said.

"You do have children, I'm Debby and this is Garry, remember mom?" Debby said.

"I'm sorry, I don't remember" the woman said. Her eyes wide open as if it terrified her.

"Oh god damn it mom! Stop doing this! You are not helping yourself! You are giving me more problems than I already have! Damn it!" Debby shouted.

"What the fuck Debby?! Just shut up okay! It's just making things worse!" Garry said shoving his sister.

"Oh is that so? What exactly are you helping here Garry? Art? What is that stuff feeding you?! Don't you dare come to me like that if you don't have anything to give!" Debby screamed.

"No no no, stop screaming, it hurts, don't hurt me, please!" the old woman started screaming and kicking. She covered her ears with her hand and started rocking herself violently on the bed.

Seconds later, three nurses darted inside the room, the held unto her to try to calm her down. One of them brought with them a syringe with her medication. They immediately gave her a shot through her IV on her left hand. Just then, one nurse approached Garry and Debby.

"I guess it's best for you to leave, we'll make her calm down"

Garry sat on the metal bench that was situated right outside his mother's hospital room. He was silent as Debby sat beside him, crying.

He slowly grabbed her head and leaned it against his shoulder and let her cry.

"Garry, I don't want this anymore, having her still alive is still feeling the torture" she sobbed.

 Garry just hugged her.

"You call yourself a good kid? You're good for nothing! A waste! Go to hell!" Garry's mom shouted at seven year old him with a beer in her hand.

"Stop yelling at my child!" his father cried grabbing her hand.

She swept him aside and grabbing and breaking every glass and plate she could find i their small house.

"Daddy!" Garry ran to his father's back.

His father never did get a stable job considering he did not finish school, not even high school. Garry's mother however, stayed at home all day leisurely drinking and smoking away the money Garry's dad is earning by being a plumber

"Stop acting like a good role model to him! You're as pathetic as all of you are in this house!" she yelled.

Garry's dad also smoked and drank but when he started to have Garry, he decided to stop. He could never be more proud than to have a son, someone who would change their lives.
