Opening my eyes, the first thing I see is my bedside table. On top of it, is a clock that reads 12:34.
"SHIT!!"
Quickly pushing myself to sit up, the second thing or more correctly person I see, is my older sister, Sarah. Standing at the edge of my bed, with a hand on her hip and a look of utter annoyance on her face that tells me she is completely unimpressed with my current state.
"What?" I question, raising my eyebrow. With a sigh, she says "Alice, you were supposed to be up hours ago." "Karim and Vince have already left for work and we had plans for today. Remember?" Ummmm is all I get out (oh yes I know, so very intelligent). As I rack my freshly awoken brain, trying to remember what we were supposed to be doing, I see Sarah give up. "Hun, we have a party to prepare for, you wanted to help with the baking". (Ah yes that... I remember now) "Oh! Right!" I exclaimed, while slowly starting to push off my nice warm blankets. After clambering out of bed, Sarah gives me a hug and wishes me good morning. She then proceeds to leave my room, though not before ruffling my hair and telling (more like commanding) me to get dressed.
After having gone to the bathroom and washing my face, I am now awake. I then promptly walked into the edge of my desk (oww now my knee hurts.... ok so I'm not that awake). Crossing my room, I pull open the door to my cupboard and stare at the absolute mess that resides within it.
"Alrighty, I guess it's time to start the day, I can tell it's gonna be a good one".
