Chad's POV

"Where was she found?" Macy asks me and I gently rest my hands on her shoulders.

"She was found in a alley. She'd been beaten and raped several times." I manage to say, trying to keep my voice steady for her sake.

"My precious babygirl. I'm so sorry I left you. So sorry." Macy whispers as she gently kisses our daughter's forehead.

Somewhere in Vancouver
Kae's POV

"I made you dinner." I quietly whisper to Uncle Ryan, who smiles as he presses a gentle kiss to my forehead.

"Thank you sweetheart. I'm very hungry." He says as he pulls his dish from the microwave an sits to eat in front of me.

"Babygirl? Is everything okay?" Uncle Ryan asks as he moves to in front of me, his plate of food forgotten.

"They think I'm dead, don't they? My mom and Dad?" I ask him and he nods as he gently picks me up.

"Please no...not tonight Uncle Ryan....it hurts me.." I beg him and he gently sets me on the bed, allowing me to lie down as he does the same.

His arm literally scare me as they wrap around my waist and pull me close to him.

"I love you Kae. Just close your eyes, I'll be here to protect you babygirl." He whispers into my ear as his breathing lulls me to sleep.

Is it bad that this feels right?

Abbotsford

Nobody's POV

"Why her, you son of a bitch!? Why my babygirl?! Why her?" Chad helplessly cries out as he lies on his deceased daughter's bedroom floor.

Chad's POV

As I lie on Kae's floor I see a photo of her when she was around four or five, and a flashback hits me hard.

2004, the long road tour

"Daddy lookie! It's a starfwish!" Kae says as she holds up a starfish and I laugh as I pick her up.

"He needs to be in the ocean, baby. Here let's put him back." I tell her as we set the fish back in the water as a wave comes towards us and she squeals as water showers us both.

End flashback

I still remember that day. The day her mom wanted her back. The day I said no.
